THC is metabolized in about 24 hours.

According to the report the THC chemical remains in the body. How would you know if you are not still high to some degree 72 hours after smoking or ingesting marijuana? And for many pot users who smoke more than one joint a week it’s possible that they never have their full faculty.

“THC is a lipid-soluble chemical. This means that it binds to fat in the body, which increases the length of time it takes for someone to eliminate THC completely. . . . . “

There’s huge volumes of studies that show that pot causes psychosis, schizophrenia and brain damage.

I see a lot of violent psychotic dope smokers on a daily basis. You can generally smell them as soon as you see them, they reek. Generally spaced out of their minds yelling and screaming and smashing things. Very dangerous.

Drugs cause the mental illness, it’s not a question of simply self-medicating.

Marijuana has been around for 4000 years mass murdering people is a in the frequency we’ve see is a relatively new phenomenon

The marijuana today is a different substance, it has been GMO’d to be much, much stronger than anything that grows naturally.

Its the mixing of Psychiatric drugs and Alcohol or marijuana that is far to common.

Marijuana with a THC content of over 25% has only been aroud a decade or two at most.

Normal, non genetically modified marijuana and/or hemp had a THC content of between 0 and 4% 60 years ago. Genetic cross breeding to increase THC content has been going on for decades and has resulted in strains of marijuana that are significantly more potent than what was around 50 years ago.

That fact is undeniable. You may as well compare apples and oranges. Current marijuana bares little resemblance to the past and no-one knows what the consequences will be.

Studies using strains of marijuana from 30-40 years ago by adolescent children whose brains have not fully developed have shown significant disruptions to proper synaptic/mental development for any mind altering substances including alcohol and pot and others.

I would not recommend any mind altering substance including SRI psych meds/drugs before the age of 25. After 25 years of age your brain has pretty much wired itself up fully. Altering the wiring while its being put together is playing Russian roulette with your mental health as far as I’m concerned.

I speak from experience. I’ve got to many friends who are Bat Guano crazy and they all share one thing in common - adolescent drug use.

While there’s huge association with Schizophrenia and Psychosis, nobody can answer: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? There are people alive today who have been smoking pot for 50+ years without either condition.

And, brain damage/change is a given and undisputed effect. But it pales in comparison to the organic brain damage/change effected by alcohol.

Alcohol is legal in all 57 states. Each of them chose to allow people to succeed or fail in these matters.

Would you presume to dictate a course and outcome for everyone...in all 57 states? Or are you just observing the FACT that pot is not harmless?

Yes, my cousin is Bat Guano crazy from drugs he did in college 40 years ago. Psychosis, paranoia, schizophrenia, bipolar. He’s pretty much whacked out all the time. Although his parents left him millions in a trust, unless watched all the time he will be out on the streets homeless and acting like a lunatic.

Once you have brain damage from drugs, it’s for life.

It is estimated that 40 to 45 percent of people will end up on a psych ward for a short stay with temporary symptoms of psychosis, schizophrenia etc just from simple life stresses.

The question for me is one of severity and length of treatment and speed of recovery. For some the stay is short; for others the condition lasts a lifetime.

The role mind altering substances play is not fully understood. No matter how much you caution/educate people there will always be people who ignore sound advice.

My advice is to err on the side of caution and avoid all of it.

Unfortunately, symptoms of many psychiatric problems manifest themselves in adolescence and early adulthood. Cause and effect is very hard to determine which is all the more reason IMNSHO to exercise caution and at least wait until your mid twenties before experimenting with an altered consciousness.
