Fox's Tucker Carlson is being roundly criticized for claiming that America's white supremacy problem "is a hoax."
It's "just like the Russia hoax," he told his viewers on Tuesday night. "It's a conspiracy theory used to divide the country and keep a hold on power."
This nonsensical claim came after several days of scrutiny of the El Paso suspect's racist views and the forces that may have radicalized him. News outlets have pointed out that some of the anti-immigrant "invasion" language in the manifesto published online shortly before the attack mirrors what is frequently heard on far-right-wing talk shows and websites. And many prominent politicians have warned about the growing threat of white nationalist violence.
Carlson responded in a monologue on Tuesday night. He asserted that "the whole thing is a lie." And he downplayed the threat by saying it's "actually not a real problem in America. The combined membership of every white supremacist organization in this country would be able to fit inside a college football stadium."

I wish any one of these people who bandy the term so blithely would take a minute and define it.
Next time you're thusly accused, stop and ask what it means. That usually stops them.
Agree, the heavy set gay Dem Clinton or Obama "former advisor" is worthless - offers absolutely nothing, and the lisp is annoying.
I agree. I think there’s a Latino one too. They don’t have to abide by our laws. If you say otherwise, you’re the racist.
Yeah, but I see far fewer appearances by them than I see of illegal immigrants or folks talking about White Privilege.
It’s laughable talking about White Supremacists today, when Black and Latino Supremacists are front and center constantly.
He, in fact is right on the numbers. The real world is much different then the CNN world.
tucker carlson is white, yes?
Supremely.
oh my.
Does CNN do anything BUT lie?
haaaaa is THAT a trick question?
Telling the truth is so passe.
Written by Humpty Dumpty.
Agreed.
Has anybody ever actually defined “White supremacist” in any form that can be reasonably understood like “Antifa, Black Lives Matter, KKK, Nazi, communist, or Muslim? For example, if someone chooses to write a history of the world’s technological development from 1400 through 2000 and mentions the race of each of the major contributors, will she be persecuted as a “White Supremacist” because most of those contributors were white males?
Why is Brian Stelter acting superior?
What? The fact that I think only legal immigrants should be allowed to enter the United States (not including tourists and diplomats) is a white supremacist idea???
Further, if one enters without going through legal processes, then that is against the law and they must leave is supremacist belief???
Answer me, Brian. Do you actually believe that such a belief is white supremacist?
Those guys do exist.

I’d be willing to bet that there are more potential jihadists in the US than there are white supremacists.
Red the headline, saw the publisher, CNN. Moved on.
I haven’t met a white supremist since I worked in prison. Retired 1998. Many of the inmates were just claiming for group protection.
Never read about American Nazi’s much. The Klan’s influence is greatly reduced. Radical leftist have taken the shootings and now formed a new issue with which to hate conservatives and white people. White supremacy which very few believe in the US. A big rush now as the war on women was years ago. A faux meme. The dems are the real racists in the US. And people like Booker, Waters Cortez and Omar openly hate white people.
That being said, i am a white nationalist. I believe European culture which spawned technology, science, medicine, art, explorations and democracy; and the religious background from Israel and Christianity, coupled with democratic values from Greece, have formed the greatest culture and country in the history of the world. And the most free and least racist.
I regret the deterioration of that culture by the overwhelming presence of Latin American and Islamic peoples. I support a great reduction of immigration of these groups, and i support more immigration from Europe and australia.
I resent being called a racist. I do not hold that any race is superior. Races are made up of many sub groups. I judge people as individuals. There are many factors, as I named, that make up our country and it’s culture. Races which congregated elsewhere simply did not have the same elements at play to develop a civilization as we did.
I would like to see the european historical influence and judeo-christian values continue as dominating factors in our country. Why don’t we have the right to sustain our culture and values as we have in the past?
I realize by speaking on this issue i am in a minority, but I believe many others believe as I do.
In May there was a white supremacist rally at DaytonsCourthouse Square. 9 Racists showed up
