Turkey and the US are on a collision course after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned he would eliminate Washingtons Kurdish allies in Syria very soon.
Mr Erdogan has been threatening an assault on the Kurdish Peoples Protection Unity (YPG) militia for over a year, but it is thought he now plans to make good on the promise...
Turkish media outlets have often shown images in recent weeks of military convoys heading for the border area, carrying equipment and fighting units. It also appears to have opened a section of the border wall in the last few days...
Kurdish officials warned that an assault on the YPG, which is holding more than 15,000 foreigners with links to ISIL (ISIS), would allow the jihadists the room to regroup and strengthen.

Turkey (Erdogan) would put guns into the hands of those ISIS fighters, just like he did before.
A huge ISIS jailbreak attempt forming.
The Kurds would execute them all before letting Erdogan have them!..........
Thank you Mr. Obama....Erdogan was one of your BFF.
What is the problem to hang them before?
The Kurds in Syria don’t have the death penalty, and a lot of the 15,000 are wives and children.
The bottom line is that if the Turks invade and overrun that camp, those ISIS members will be put on the Turkish payroll, like they have done before, when they invaded Jarabulus and Afrin.
In the past, most of the ISIS personnel were given jobs in the administration, police and military of the conquered area, but some will be screened out by the Turkish Intelligence Service, to covertly go back to being full time jihadi terrorists.
The big differences between the earlier Turkish absorption of ISIS fighters and now, are three.
1. Before, they were mostly local Syrians, now they will be heavily foreign jihadis, who can easily operate in Western societies, knowing the language and culture.
2. This time there are a lot more of them.
3. This batch includes a bunch of senior leaders, and specialists - the heart of the organization.
If Turkey breaks them out from jail, ISIS will likely snap back as a highly capable International terrorist organization in just a few months.
“What is the problem to hang them before?”
Those Kurdish groups don’t have the death penalty.
The group in that prison camp includes the hard core of ISIS - lots of senior leaders and specialists. There is a huge contingent of non-Arab foreign jihadis, including those from the former Soviet Republics (like Chechens), many of whom are Russian speakers.
I don’t see a problem to review a death penalty issue.
Trump should just let them know the USAF will be awaiting his armored columns on the other side of the border.
“I dont see a problem to review a death penalty issue.”
Trying to get International recognition, those Kurdish groups are very careful about crossing any legal lines. They also promote no death penalty as part of their ideology.
No way they are going to conduct a mass execution.
The USA just cannot open fire on NATO troops.
The Kurds might be equipped with weapons capable of doing so, especially anti-tank missiles.
Closing the air space to Turkish warplanes is another option, but enforcement could be a problem.
The USA just cannot open fire on NATO troops.
************
And yet there are probably US troops advising the Kurds, and will most likely be fired on by Turkey???
When Turkey embraced the concept of a religious government (Muslim) over the secular government that existed prior to Erdogan, started importing Russian weapons systems, and started promoting the idea that the Muslim Caliphate will be restored with Turkey as its head, it should have been removed from NATO.
This same country refused to allow the US to use its soil to fight Muslim extremist.
“The USA just cannot open fire on NATO troops.”
Says who?
If a NATO member militarily attacks a US interest, they are subject to military action by the US.
In all conceivable scenarios.
We will just kill those ISIS too.
