This sounds wrong. I think the other guy, the middle aged man was the primary shooter. Why do I think so?

1) The Instagram message. Very ordinary, with slight cynicism about prices. Not what I would call radical or homicidal. Written by someone just going to a garlic festival.

2) He read a book. Lots of people read books. Even radical ones. It is not evidentiary.

3) No mention of his weaponry. Typically shooters have several guns, lots of bullets, etc. Maybe he heard shooting and fetched his rifle to defend himself or others.

4) Witnesses talked about the other guy, not him.

Well, this was a half-Italian man who attacked a garlic festival.

He posted “Ayyy” no doubt making fun of his ancestry or paying homage to Fonzi or the Godfather or something.

He set up an Instagram with an old ancester guy in Arabic dress, the garlic festival, and Smoky the Bear with an old and unusually controversial white supremacist text. He attacked Italians, and in his text he attacked people of native ancestry, and Silicon Valley workers. Part of his very limited screed was an attack on growth that paves over the land and dumps more people on it.

Allen O. Baylor (Ali Asghar Vahabzadeh) passed away Thursday June 1 2000 at his residence in Westlake Village.

Mr. Baylor was born Nov. 16 1923 in Ardabil Iran and had been a Ventura County resident for 10 years. He was a professor of economics at the University of Texas California Lutheran University and UCLA for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughters Mary Baylor Ardis Baylor Anna Baylor; son David Baylor; and grandchildren Emily Henry Charles Shaadi Aria Helena Rossino Carlo and Santino.

A service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday June 3 at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Chapel. Burial will be at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary Westlake Village.
