Rep. Chabot Didn't Have Much to Ask Mueller...But He Had Plenty to Say to His Dem Colleagues

What exactly were Democrats hoping to gain at Wednesday's hearings with former special counsel Robert Mueller? They already have his 448-page report. He's already given a public statement about his conclusions. He's already said, matter-of-factly, that the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia to win the 2016 election. Yet, with a series of subpoenas, Democrats have dragged Mueller to Capitol Hill to try and squeeze some new information out of him that will incriminate President Trump.

And their Republican colleagues are sick of it. Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH) didn't have many questions for the witness because, again, he already has hundreds of pages he can read on the matter. But he did have plenty to say about the Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee.

WATCH: @RepSteveChabot calls out the Mueller hearings as being really about Democrats' "last best hope to build up some sort of groundswell across America to impeach President Trump."

“My Democratic colleagues were very disappointed in your report,” Chabot told Mueller. “They were expecting you to say something on the lines of, 'here’s why President Trump deserves to be impeached,' like Ken Starr did relative to President Clinton back about 20 years ago.”

So, they shifted their strategy, which is why Mueller is sitting before them today.

Lots of buzz on Capitol Hill today. Not sure why.

I hear someone is testifying about a report that we already have, regarding Russian collusion that never happened.

As most agree, the special counsel's stuttering, bumbling, cringeworthy, and recycled performance did Democrats few favors.

Mueller is answering few questions-- citing the report, asking questions to be repeated, seems confused at times and uncertain about key parts of his own report.

Some on the Left will continue to deny it, but this really puts up a big flashing neon sign that the Democrats have NOTHING. After all this time, all this money, all this investigation, they have NOTHING.

And now it’s time for the declassification. Because the Republicans don’t have “nothing”. The Republicans have the goods on the Democrats. Time to show and tell.

So far, Dan Crenshaw is looking like a good prospect for 2024.

He was very concern that if cornered he might disclose something that would put himself in jail or many of the Democratic party.

obfuscation is a good word for today.

BTW, the Trumpians need to start using the racist term when confronted by gross, inflammatory bigotry by the Democrats.

Trump IS a Person of Color [Orange].

To disagree with him is Racist [using the current definitions].

I fully agree.

The Dems are driving it home to many that they’ve got nothing but their lies against Trump, I’m tickled they won’t let it go.

Chabot is a Republican, it’s a lousy headline.

Ah.....

Did anyone ask Mueller if the DOJ, Special Council, or the FBI investigated the DNC server independently of Crowdstrike (Soros and Google)? Was the DNC Russian hack proven or not? Did they interview Julian Assuage or not. Did Mueller check with the NSA if Seth Rich and his brother had been communicating with Wiki or not?

The entire Russian Collusion was based upon the PRESUMPTION that the ‘Russians’ had hacked the DNC server. Crowdstrike says it was the Russians, but they have lied before and they certainly aren’t independent of the DNC. So, Who checked to see if we started with the right ‘Facts’.

Next democrats will put on an opera - - have the report sung to us...

When that doesn't work democrats can hire antifa bullies to stand in our front yards holding a bullhorn and screaming the whole report out loud...

For added zest, FBI thugs can be stationed next to the creep with the bullhorn - ready to shoot any citizen who tries to escape. Maybe then we'll 'hear it'... to democrat standards... (of course we won't, but it'll be funny to watch them fail again).

Yep, if they keep this farce up they’ll continue to fail.

I’d think there’d be a few Dems that know they’re beating a dead horse and it’s way past time to give it up. They’re idiots. :^)

Why would the Dims put up a witness who is easily confused??? To me, that is cruel.

Because there is nothing the libs wouldn’t do to hurt POTUS, I see the possibility of Muller being declared incompetent, a condition that only now is being seen, but that was in effect during the investigation.

That being said, the finding of the investigation are in question and so, the investigation should be redone.

I so hope I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t put it past them.

I think in years to come, part of the historical analysis will have to be done by competent psychologists. A lot of what the Left has been doing has been basically insane. It’s illogical. It flies in the face of reality.

The leadership ought to have figured out by now that Mueller has nothing. Sure, the propaganda arm can go on TV and try to convince the rubes out there in the heartland that Trump is a dirty dog. But the leadership has to know differently.

But they pursue. They go all-in with a losing hand? Why?

Part of me think that the evil of the Left is so deep, so ugly and so understood by the leadership of the Left to be utterly unforgivable that they just have nothing to lose at all. They can’t give up. They will not live to fight another day. So they engage in throwing rocks at B-2 bombers.
