Multiple suspects in custody for dousing NYPD cops with water

The NYPD has busted three men, including a reputed Crips gang member on probation, in connection with the caught-on-video water-dousing of cops in Harlem and Brooklyn, law enforcement sources told The Post Wednesday.

Gangbanger Courtney “Killer Court” Thompson, 28, of the Crips subset “Fresh Gangstas” surrendered Wednesday morning at the 73rd Precinct stationhouse for his alleged involvement in the Brownsville water drenching incident, sources said.

Thompson, a Brownsville resident, was hit with charges of obstruction of governmental administration, criminal nuisance, criminal tampering, disorderly conduct and harassment, police said.

He has more than 20 prior arrests on his record, including for assault, said sources, who noted that most of the busts are sealed.

Thompson has been on probation since 2018 in connection to a 2015 robbery busy, according to sources.

NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan tweeted about Wednesday’s arrest, but did not name the suspect.

“Actions like we’ve seen in videos recently will NEVER be tolerated in this city. YOU WILL BE ARRESTED,” Monahan said in the tweet.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea also tweeted about the arrest, and included a screenshot of the suspect showing him tossing a blue bucket of water on a cop.

Two other suspects were taken into custody at the 28th Precinct stationhouse Wednesday in connection to a similar incident in Harlem where uniformed officers were captured on video getting soaked with buckets of water while making an arrest, sources said.

The judge should sentence them to a dunking tank at a street fair.

Let the punishment fit the crime.

They would be sealed if he were under eighteen at the time.

No doubt gangbanger’s 3rd grade photo will be on the front page of the newspapers around the country and we will be told he was on his way to church when he encountered the racist, mean cops.

These people will burn down the city if they feel the cops can’t stop them... then they’ll call us all racists for objecting to our cities being destroy further by the lowlifes. (No, this is NOT a dog whistle - I’m talking about young out-of-control black thugs)...

Sounds like they have to turn themselves in rather than be sought out and arrested. DiBasio probably won’t allow it.

Good news!

NYC prosecutors and judges will see to it that he isn't punished.

That's the track record. He has 20 prior arrests, yet he's out and about.

I wonder if 3 men would be arrested and tried for assault if they threw water on me?

Do you disagree with this arrest?

Why would most of the records be sealed?

I’ll answer that, he must be planning to run for president.

"I don’t see assaulting a police officer listed as a charge. Why is that not a charge?"

It should be. That pail could have held urine, cement, acid, bleach...or any other dangerous chemical.

I'm glad the officers didn't respond initially, because if they had, they'd have been accused of abusing the perps, and called racists. One officer who was performing a duty outside a civilian vehicle, had water thrown at him, and the bucket was then thrown, and hit him in the head. They showed extreme tolerance to the disrespect they received. I worked in Corrections for 25 years. Whenever a convict threw anything at an officer, internal charges were made against him, and one would have been assault. Any actual inmate on staff assault would result in outside criminal assault charges being made.

Prior to NY State Corrections banning glass jars, or any other item made of glass from being in the possession of inmates, I had an inmate throw a glass jar at the bars from inside his cell. I was walking down the gallery, speaking with another inmate at the time. I was fast enough to have been able to turn my head to the left to avoid being hit in the face. I suffered some minor cuts to the right side of my head. That inmate got charged with assault, as did any inmate who chose to throw feces or urine at staff.
