Christopher Columbus Kraft Jr.(Voice of Apollo) has just passed. Confidence is high on this. Should be breaking soon.
Off thread topic but Norah ODonnell is leftist hack, always has been.
RIP
The voice of Apollo was the Christopher Columbus craft. Talk about a man named for his mission. Voyages of discovery.
It gets better...
Born in Phoebus, Virginia, on February 28, 1924, Kraft was named after his father, Christopher Columbus Kraft, who was born in New York City in 1892 near the newly renamed Columbus Circle. Kraft's father, the son of Bavarian immigrants[3], had found his name an embarrassment, but passed it along to his son nonetheless. In later years, Kraftas well as other commentatorswould consider it peculiarly appropriate. Kraft commented in his autobiography that, with the choice of his name, "some of my life's direction was settled from the start."[4]

... because:
"Phoebus" redirects here. For other uses, see Phoebus (disambiguation).>>>
Apollo's chief epithet was Phoebus (/ˈfiːbəs/ FEE-bəs; Φοῖβος, Phoibos Greek pronunciation: [pʰó͜i.bos]), literally "bright".[25] It was very commonly used by both the Greeks and Romans for Apollo's role as the god of light.
It's all orchestrated.
The “voice” of Apollo was Jack King - Kraft was the director. Just noting..
Dang, never met the man but miss him already .. my impression is that when Kraft said ‘jump’ even Kranz said ‘how high’.
RIP Mr. Flight Director
RIP, Chris Kraft.
If you gave her a 100 multiple points questionnaire on space flight she would crash and burn. Charlatan
Walter Cronkite, if alive, would ace it
Christopher Columbus was an explorer who opened up a new world.
He did have his proclivities.
I have absolutely no doubt that “Somebody” is always sending us messages. The question is, do we listen?
He was a lovely man.
Ditto.
RIP.
These days a lit cigar in NASA would get You fired.
[[I well remember Chris Crafts sonorous voice from 50 years ago.]]
Got me thinking. Remember Jules Bergman?
100%
That’s right. Nothing is more important than appearances to liars who intend to continue to lie because they know they can’t afford to be honest. Even their appearance is made to look like something it is not. All of pop culture seems to be like that and it sells. Americans who grow to know the difference between substance and mere appearances are the future and everyone else should fall by the wayside until they finally come around to having and using reasonable levels common sense.
He deserved every victory cigar he ever lit. I don’t know anything about him personally, but why bother when you already know something of his world-reknowned professional accomplishments? However, I think it’s safe to assume that he was a man of great integrity and a great American. RIP
“..A fantastic iconic period in our history...”
Indeed.
I was just a kid at the time (9yrs old), but vividly remember it, and the feeling of absolute pride at being an American...
It was momentous. And no one else has been able to repeat it.
All image. His real impact is as one of the major progenitors of "fake news", as was his successor and protege, Dan Rather.
