Christopher Columbus Kraft Jr.(Voice of Apollo) has just passed. Confidence is high on this. Should be breaking soon.
Houston Chronicle reporting now. Mods can delete this if someone wants to post full article.
Yup. Wikipedia already has him as a was.
I worked on Apollo and met many of the figures of that program. Chris Kraft was one of them. A fantastic iconic period in our history. He, and others, will always be missed.
Timing is everything. Made the 50th anniversary. RIP Mr Kraft.
God speed Mr. Craft.
He was one heck of a guy. Administrators that actually know what they are doing. He was the kind of guy who would have your back if you are doing what you’re supposed to be doing. He’d also fire you in the spot, if not.
RIP
I noticed Norah O’Donnell on the CBS special on the moon landing.
Back then we had Walter Cronkite, the authoritative, knowledgeable newsman who sat behind a desk with his gruff voice.
Today, we have Norah O’Donnell, standing in front of the camera in her spiffy pants suit, and you just know that she thinks her clothes and appearance are much more important than any news she is reading.
I always thought he had a really cool name. RIP Mr Craft.
I well remember Chris Craft’s sonorous voice from 50 years ago.
May he Rest in Eternal Peace.
Yours, TMN78247
Passed what?
And Christopher Cross sang about boats.
RIP, Passed away at 95.
Must have been the cigar.
At least Cronkite wrote his own broadcast.
Nora is reading it cold, most of the time. She is as surprised as you or me with what is coming out of her pie hole.
Dang, Gene Kranz gave a toast to him last night at an event.
“Walter Cronkite, the authoritative, knowledgeable newsman”
You meant pinko, nauseating newsman, right?
RIP to one of the towering heroes of my childhood.
Yes. Reminiscent of Presidents Adams and Jefferson.
Maybe “Somebody” is telling us to get on the stick...
We didnt know back then. He TOLD us he was the definitive newsman and there was nobody to dispute him as we didnt realize that NEWSREADERS have been biased for decades.
