It is a flat out proxy war on America.
What is never pointed out and is really anti-Christian is that all of these Christian organizations are prevented by law from taking part in any form of proselytization. No information or literature or Bible teaching, prayer or mention of Jesus or anything to do with the great commission. I’m often confused as to why this aspect isn’t brought up by talking heads when discussing this stuff bu then it wouldn’t do any good anyway.
ping!
From Wikipedia: “LIRS continues to be a faith-based organization and maintains relationships with three national Lutheran denominations: the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod, and the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.”
These church bodies are hiding the fact that they are using millions of tax-payer dollars to aid and abet illegal aliens who are invading and squatting in our country, where they then absorb billions of our tax dollars.
These churches would excuse this on the basis of the Bible’s teaching, “Do good to everyone, especially those of the household of faith.” However, this is misleading. When the Good Samaritan administered aid to the crime victim on the roadside, he gave his own wine and oil. He didn’t get reimbursed by Roman government tax money. Let these church bodies finance their charity work out of their own pockets, and not finance their administrative bills from the Federal treasury. That will prove what their motivation really is.
LIRS does not currently receive funding from the LCMS on the national level.
There are some LCMS congregations which offer the agency direct support.
The issue is highly controversial within the LCMS as you can read here:

I did to, about 40 years ago, even so many of the small churches
are getting to be about money and prestige.
In the early church the people sold every thing they had and gave
the proceeds to the apostles just to have the privilege of working
day and night to help preach the gospel.
Now the preachers thinks they should be paid just to preach to the
so called members.
Greedy scum and apostate too.
This is what should be going on but isn’t

Protesters Question Archbishop’s Loyalty To US
Protest LA Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence
Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence. Many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning Gomez’s loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.
The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney by offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans who crossed the border illegally. While thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.
A spokeswoman for the group, *Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”. “Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with it on “social engineering” issues including “amnesty” . When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politician challenges the church on the grounds of faith and morals” * Fictional name used not intended to reflect on any so named person living or deceased

For this we can thank George W. Bush and his “faith based initiative”.
Raised an Episcopalian, attended Presbyterian Sunday School, even spent some times in a Baptist Summer Camp. A year ago I attended a service at a Congregationalist Church. Let me paraphrase the sermon and subsequent greetings: Gay, gay, gay, gay, gay... Their sexual preferences were the only things important to that congregation. They paraded the gay flag like a sacred artifact. What did I hear? Heterosexual people who support raising children in the “nuclear” family are not welcome.
That is about the way it appears to me also and I believe God is calling his people out of the religious institutions.

Thanks fieldmarshaldj.
For years the “Lutherans” have been buying up whole apartment complexes in the southwest as a way station for illegal aliens on our dime.
I figure they set them up for all available gubmint money available and then send them off to any relations or “friendly” communities across the US.
Sick of this chit.
I don’t see why any private entity needs to be getting government subsidies.
