Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) filed articles of impeachment against President Trump on Tuesday under a process that will force a House floor vote by the end of this week.

Green introduced his articles of impeachment after the House passed a resolution largely along party lines condemning Trump for suggesting that four progressive freshman congresswomen of color - Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) - "go back" to their countries.
Green said that the House should go beyond condemning Trump and move to remove him from office.
It will be the third impeachment floor vote forced by Green in the last two years, but the first since Democrats took control of the House.
Green previously forced procedural votes on articles of impeachment against Trump in December 2017 and January 2018. Both efforts drew the support of about 60 House Democrats.

Once the articles of impeachment are drafted, the 40 members on the House Judiciary Committee voted over whether bring them to the full House of Representatives.
A simple majority vote is needed, in this case, which means 21 congresspeople voting yay are needed in this phase.
HOUSE VOTE: 218
Once the articles make it out of the judiciary committee, the 435 members of the House of Representatives debate the merits of the articles of impeachment.
In this phase, a simple majority is needed again to continue the impeachment process, which means 218 representatives would have to vote yay in order to confirm impeachment.
SENATE TRIAL: 67 to remove from office
“Given Romney, Murkowski & Collins sitting over there in the Senate all spinless and such, this could be very close.”
Still leaves the Dems 17 short in the Senate. As to those three, as far as I know, Collins wants to get re-elected in 2020 and has to know that she cannot win without Trump supporters, so I don’t see voting for removal until some REAL evidence surfaces. The other 2 - who knows and who cares.
Trump said they could go if they don’t care for this country. The oath of office includes to defend against domestic enemies. That would be people that support illegal entry. That would be people that support countries that want the demise of our country. That would be people that want the demise of the presidency. His reproach to the proponents of lawlessness is part of oath of office! Maybe they had their fingers crossed behind their backs when they took the oath.
Green is a pea brain that is unable to entertain but one thought and since President Trump was elected that thought has been impeachment.
They will start whispering "We tried doing this the civil way, working in the system. That orange man who literally stole the office he is soiling is literally a Nazi running literal concentration camps and we can't remove that literal Hitler. The constitution only exists to protect Nazis. And the klan. They use it to keep us down. We have no choice, it all has to be burned down. Sure, some people will get hurt but Jefferson himself said that the tree of liberty needs to be watered by the blood of tyrants. Well that's where we are."
Wait and see, they want blood and as soon as they think they have enough crazies triggered enough to join them they will go get blood.
Why is Maxine so quiet ,did she do something bad and is in hiding ,LOL
Queen Sheila Jackson Lee is wondering where all of her tv camera closeups went.
I needed a good laugh after today. You da man,Paladin2.
Democrats are a naked threat to democracy by refusing to accept the results of the 2016 or 2020 election.
AOC said they have to impeach Trump or he could win again.
God help us.
This is good.
Let them vote.
LOL!!! Brilliant. :D
AMEN! You have spoken the TRUTH.
It takes 67 votes or 2/3 of the Senate to remove.
Heh good one
It’s an Al Green New Deal
Also called “coup attempt”.
A D by the name means vote YES, unless they realize that they will end up with egg (or worse) on their faces.
I always liked Al Green when I heard his music on the radio...
If this passes the house, the Senate should simply ignore and state publicly that since the articles do not site specific crimes, it is not an “impeachment” and therefore the Senate is under no obligation to even recognize the action by the House.
... Dem heads would be exploding like popcorn.
