Foreign-born lawmaker: Trump's not going to tell me to 'go back to my country'
The Hill ^ | 07/15/19 | Rebecca Klar

A congressman born in Lima, Peru said President Trump's tweet suggesting a group of Congresswomen "go back" to the countries that they came from has "nothing to do with birthplace."

As a foreign-born representative, unlike many of the women Trump was likely targeting in his Sunday tweet, Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) said he hasn't been told to "go back" by Trump, calling himself a "white male."

"But I’m a white male of European descent. He’s not going to tell me to ‘go back to my county’. His tantrum has nothing to do with birthplace." Himes said in a Monday Instagram post, sharing a photo of himself as a second grade student in Colombia. "This country is stronger because of our diversity."

Trump tweeted Sunday that "'progressive' Democrat Congresswomen who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe" should "go back."

The tweet appears to be aimed at a group of freshman House Democrats, including Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.).

Omar came to the U.S. as a child as a Somali refugee. The other congresswomen were born in the U.S.

Democrats have denounced the president's tweet as being a racist message designed to divide Americans.

He doubled down on his remarks late Sunday, despite the backlash.

Republicans have not come forward to denounce the president's tweet.

OK, I will. Go back and infest your own country with your Communism, and take your fellow reds with you. No compromise with Reds and Pinks!

“This country is stronger because of our diversity.”

Balkanization. Exactly the way the left wants it.

Diversity. I'm reminded of that muzzie mass murder at Fort Hood. And what that General said to "comfort" the victims....

Diversity means only those who agree with the un-American left.

It’s Monday morning. Hussein Head Republicans, like their Rat counterparts, either have not awakened, or are still awaiting their scripts from the same source all our domestic enemies get their “intelligence”.

Won’t need to send them anywhere if Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement is enacted from The List.

The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.

Wherever I see diversity, in a city, in a school, in a business, in a nation, I see conflict, recrimination, jealousy, accusations, anger, resentment, hostility, and ultimately violence and war.

Mitt’s likely still drafting his liberal ass-kissing denunciation of the Trump tweet.

Japan loves diversity. About 1% of their workforce is non-Japanese. I had the honor of being part of that 1% for 14 years. My daughter has the honor of being part of that 1% now.

They have high standards for being part of that 1%, including paying them more.

Currently, Japan's population is shrinking. They are talking about dealing with that by increasing the non Japanese portion of the workforce to maybe up to 3%. But mostly, they are developing robots and other advanced technology because they want their culture to be intact once the population starts growing again in 50 years or so.

Yep. And if the diversity is all within a nation, that nation is at civil war, at one level or another.

And I’m not talking about racial diversity. I’m talking about cultural diversity.

To put it another way, a parking lot can have a diversity of cars, but a car can not have a diversity of parts from various manufacturers. It won’t run.

WE’RE TIRED OF BEING CALLED RACISTS BY PEOPLE WE’VE ACCEPTED INTO OUR COUNTRY AS FELLOW AMERICANS.

If you’re a legal immigrant you’re an American.... that said, it’s polite NOT to trash a home you’ve been welcomed into...

Republicans have not come forward to denounce the president’s tweet.

It was a Tweet better not tweeted. He took the focus off the Pelosie "Squad" squabble and put himself back in the mix. JMHO.

“backlash”????

He must mean the criticism from democrats he smoked in the 2016 election.

Did anyone expect them to praise him for saying that?

IT takes three generations to wash the dirt our from under the nails of immigrants and become American.

Perhaps that should be the rule????

Mitt is right now trying to mend his broken heart over Trump actually voicing a sentiment such as that. I am sure it crushes his righteous soul.

We can expect to receive from him a long essay with gallons of red from his bleeding heart.
