For people who think that the problem with the US women’s team is just Rapinoe, this should disabuse you. She accepted Schumer’s invitation on behalf of the TEAM. There are no conservatives on this team. It starts from the top. The team decided to wear rainbow numbers a year ago during pride month. When a Christian team member declined to wear the jersey, she was never invited back to camp with the national team. However, when Rapinoe started disrespecting the American flag, she was told by her coach to cut it out. She continued. What happened to her? She was named team captain! Alex Morgan said she would not accept an invite to the White House.
Has any player dissassociate themselves from these partisan witches? Nope. Silence means consent. The entire team is partisan hacks. They represent only half the country and despise the half who voted for Donald Trump. It’s heartbreaking for a former fan like myself who was a fan of the team before they became popular. But I do not support people who despise me.
If they were responsible, competent adults they'd simply refuse to play for the USWNT unless the national team met their demands for compensation. They are making this a political issue because they have no leverage. The USWNT has no reason to meet their demands because there are probably 500 other female soccer players in the U.S. who are capable of doing just as well in international tournaments as the ones on the field now.
What does Megan Rapinoe do if she's not playing soccer? She'd probably be working at a Starbucks somewhere, and getting paid a hell of a lot less than what she earns on the USWNT.
