Facebook and Twitter reportedly not invited to Trump's social media summit at White House

Facebook and Twitter were reportedly not invited by the White House to a social media summit hosted by President Trump.

CNN reports the two prominent social media companies were not extended invitations, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The summit, set for Thursday, is set to address issues relevant to social media today, all the more important as Trump utilizes the platforms like no other president before him.

The White House has not made public the various companies that will be attending Thursday’s event.

Trump has frequently gone after Twitter and Google for what he alleges, without evidence, is the censoring of conservative voices on the platforms.

He has previously met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai to address his grievances with their companies.

Trump reportedly questioned Dorsey specifically on why he was losing followers on Twitter, to which Dorsey explained it was likely bots who were removed from the platform causing Trump’s loss of followers.

Sources told CNN it was not surprising that neither Twitter nor Facebook were invited to the event.

The White House in May launched a tool that gives people the ability to report what they deem to be cases of social media bias.

The Hill has reached out to both Facebook and Twitter for comment, as well as the White House.

If Twitter is removing bots how many 'bot' followers have been removed from Obamas' twitter account?

Obamas' numbers should be going down too.

“Trump has frequently gone after Twitter and Google for what he alleges, without evidence, is the censoring of conservative voices on the platforms.”

Editorializing while pretending to be reporting. Tsk tsk.

“He has previously met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.”

Both meetings were a waste of time. Dorsey and Pichai worship themselves and have no concept of charity.

President Trump should invite a few busloads of anti-trust lawyers to this little shindig.

Why does elected officials in Washington need to utilize Facebook and Twitter anyway? They have their own personal pages, why can't they just release statements and video from their senate.gov or house.gov addresses?

Maybe Trump will turn the whitehouse.gov website into its own social media platform. By doing so, it would virtually decimate Twitter and Facebook from a political standpoint.

I suspect this is “fake news” to make Pres. Trump look bumbling and petty. It would make no sense whatsoever not to include Twitter and Facebook in the social media summit, no matter how much Pres. Trump may dislike them.

what he alleges, without evidence, is the censoring of conservative voices on the platforms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone with eyes sees that they are indeed censoring conservatives, while the Ministry of Propaganda spent two years accusing Trump of colluding with Russians, without evidence.
If Facebk and Twtr really want to know what will be said at this Thursday’s meeting with Trump, there are ways.
It’s not hard.
There is a high likelihood that some people meeting with Trump also have (private or workrelated) Facebook and Twitter accounts. Or did have such accounts at one time. All Facebk and Twtr need do is to take a few digital ‘peeps’ at what these people post in the next few days. They already can look at everything we post if they want to anyway. There may be certain words, phrases or dollar figures that trigger such looks.
I am very Old America-UN-savvy in ref. to really making your computer sing and dance just the way you want it to. For one thing, I’m simply not that interested. But if I can construct a possible method of Spy-Links, then such events have likely already been around for 30 years or more.
Many nine year olds know ALL about this stuff.
LOL! I don't recall seeing that included when Obama said that Obamacare will save people $2,500 per year.
Or after any wild statement by any Democrat.
Normally I hate to make snap judgements based on superficial criteria such as a person’s name or appearance, but this guy’s face practically has “yes, I’m an insufferable little prick” written all over it.
If someone brings a Google phone into the room, Google will have a recording of everything said. I think same with Facebook, if someone has downloaded the Facebook app.
