Till said in his floor speech that while the tax bill will raise a small amount of revenue, it is chiefly a population health bill.

Higher taxes for better health. Got it.

the measure will help keep tobacco products out of the hands of kids, who are most affected by price hikes.

Yeah, but... Won't it adversely affect the poor and minorities too?

All this will do is make them drive to a nearby state to buy juice.
I predict vapor stores to open just across every border.

Stick with marijuana, it’s safe, legal and government endorsed!

We here in New Hampshire applaud Vermont on their brave decision to increase these taxes.

Our NH tax free state line stores are standing ready to help out the Vermont citizens with cheap low cost e-cigarettes and other vap ware.

Back when cigarettes went to $4 a pack, I started making my own. They sold filtered tubes, bulk cigarette tobacco and the machines to stuff the tubes. That put the price at less than a buck a pack. There were some nice Turkish blends too. Those were kind of strong but good on occasion.

Then Obama put his 150% tax on bulk cigarette tobacco. First the imported stuff went away and then the domestic. He didn’t tax pipe tobacco for some reason so now everyone sells cigarette tobacco as pipe tobacco. The difference is the coarseness of the cut.

So now, those of us who smoke cigarettes and don’t want to pay $5-6 a pack deal with chunks and fussiness when making smokes. We lose a few tubes here and there. They don’t make any nice blends. It’s all just whatever’s cheapest to grow I guess. Oh and when all premade cigarettes went to being ‘fire safe’, the taste changed. I can’t stand a premade cig. They taste like chemicals to me.

Definitely a tax on the poor. There were no well to do people stuffing their own cigarettes.

Gee, don’t they sell vaping stuff online?

Good news for the surrounding state’s sales. The neighboring states of Kansas thank them for having such a high frickin cost of tagging vehicles.

Take a look at Vermont’s budget, then look at the number of rich bugging out of Vermont.

Vermont is desperate for money.

Meanwhile the left pushes pot to our kids and lets them chop off vital parts and kill their babies without telling us.

_____________

This is what happened forty years ago to cigarettes in the US.

So we traded one disease for another, Cancer/emphasema for morbid obesity/diabetes.

It is my opinion that all cultures need something to get through the day to day, alcohol, nicotine, betel nuts, what ever it takes. and have it be socially acceptable.

My father and grand father both died of smoking related diseases. I would have killed for a safe alternative that could have helped either of them kick the habit before it was too late. But democrat politicians have managed to warp the technology that could have saved them into a dangerous bogie man that they must make money off of ... for the children of course.

I envision E-cigarette stores opening right across the CT river in NH or across the state lines into Mass & NY.

These state reps always think they live in a vacuum. This means people will just drive across the border to the surrounding states like NH. It is not that far of a drive.
This will just crush the revenue for VT retailers and shift it across state lines. In addition, their VT tax revenue will probably go down.

Those E-cigarette stores are everywhere here in NH.

Vaping is a white trash habit.
Dirt-poor people always find the money to pay for vapes, cigs, reefer, lottery tickets, & tattoos.

Higher taxes won’t discourage bad habits.
Will just make them poorer while giving more $$ to government & fueling more demands to fix ‘income inequality.”
