the city council approved a series of strategic priorities that includes "being a leader in racial equity and inclusion in order to create a more just and inclusive community for all," and hired its first-ever racial equity coordinator. Currently, the lead display on the city's website is an advertisement aimed at residents interested in running for city council, illustrated by a drawing of a woman in a hijab, a bespectacled African American man, and another man who could be Hispanic or Asian.

it took less than three minutes for the council to agree that they would stop requiring the Pledge of Allegiance at meetings, "in order to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community,"

the most recent U.S. census estimates, 7.7 percent of the city's population identifies as black or African American, 3.7 percent as Asian, and 3.8 percent as Latino or Hispanic.

As "hispanic" is usually classified as white by the progs, the place is about 90% white.

So who are they paying all this "racial equity and inclusion" to?

It appears the answer is nobody.

Brausen, similarly, told the Star Tribune that while he didn't recall getting any complaints about the pledge..."

So, not a single complaint but someone "felt the need" to break out a big old chunk of anti-American by banning the pledge.

Behold, the sjw.

Council Member Anne Mavity, who introduced the proposal to change that rule, told KARE 11 that saluting the flag every single time wasn't really necessary, and didn't reflect the city's commitment to diversity.

She is the one in the middle.

The St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter banned fireworks last year siting costs.
He was caught hiring his friends at a much higher cost to no show jobs.

No fireworks this year either.
Democrats hate America.

I remember, back in the day, when it was known as “St. Jewish Park”.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Thomas Friedman of the New York Slimes grew up there or something.

——No fireworks this year either——

I live in East Tennessee where fireworks are legal. By now, there are huge tents set up on vacant property all over offering a bewildering array of fireworks. There is one chain with very large stores. They have large screen TV’s to show the various displays for sale. People leave with shopping carts full. Whole families come to enjoy the fireworks purchasing excitement and anticipation.

On July 4, 2017, from our back yard we watched as the sky exploded 360 degrees with the exuberant displays. The show went on for a very long time. It did in fact sound like what I imagine a war might sound. The collective effort was far in excess of the past.

We were celebrating the founding of America and....... the fact Obama was gone. It was very obvious.

If they replaced it with an invocation that’s okay. The pledge of allegiance was written by a socialist. Only later was any mention of God added. Personally, I don’t like it. There’s no mention of the Constitution in it. And besides, we got along great without a pledge of allegiance for the first 100+ years.

I’m with you. Stopped saying the pledge in 4th grade. Didn’t sit right. Flag first. Nation second. Founding principles not mentioned. Was not my thing.
