The idea was well-intentioned: City council members in St. Louis Park, Minn., a left-leaning suburb of Minneapolis, wanted to make sure that all residents felt welcome at their bimonthly meetings. So, last week, they voted to stop reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
I hope its not too controversial, St. Louis Park City Council Member Tim Brausen told the Star Tribune. Our community tends to be a very welcoming and increasingly diverse community, and we believe our citizens will understand."
It did, in fact, prove to be controversial.
Anti-American much? talk show host Joe Pagliarulo tweeted on Wednesday. St Louis Park should no longer be allowed to claim its in the United States of America.
Right in time for the Fourth of July, the city of just over 49,000 people is being accused of insufficient patriotism, and its nonpartisan city council is showing signs that it may reconsider. Neither St. Louis Parks mayor nor any of the six council members could be reached for comment late Thursday night, but Jacque Smith, the communications and marketing manager for the city, told The Washington Post in an email that the council plans to revisit its decision at a July 8 study session after hearing many comments from the community.

It started with the football execs not putting a stop to the racist ranting s of their guy who was influenced by his Egyptian non American anti American cohort
As "hispanic" is usually classified as white by the progs, the place is about 90% white.
So who are they paying all this "racial equity and inclusion" to?
It appears the answer is nobody.
Brausen, similarly, told the Star Tribune that while he didn't recall getting any complaints about the pledge..."
So, not a single complaint but someone "felt the need" to break out a big old chunk of anti-American by banning the pledge.
Behold, the sjw.
Council Member Anne Mavity, who introduced the proposal to change that rule, told KARE 11 that saluting the flag every single time wasn't really necessary, and didn't reflect the city's commitment to diversity.

The St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter banned fireworks last year siting costs.
He was caught hiring his friends at a much higher cost to no show jobs.
No fireworks this year either.

I bought one for myself and another for my sister. We use to get food to go there several times a year.
I *think* that's where Ihlan Omar is from, right...?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Thomas Friedman of the New York Slimes grew up there or something.

Correct.
Ah, the luxury of stupidity. It must be nice.
I live in East Tennessee where fireworks are legal. By now, there are huge tents set up on vacant property all over offering a bewildering array of fireworks. There is one chain with very large stores. They have large screen TV’s to show the various displays for sale. People leave with shopping carts full. Whole families come to enjoy the fireworks purchasing excitement and anticipation.
On July 4, 2017, from our back yard we watched as the sky exploded 360 degrees with the exuberant displays. The show went on for a very long time. It did in fact sound like what I imagine a war might sound. The collective effort was far in excess of the past.
We were celebrating the founding of America and....... the fact Obama was gone. It was very obvious.

“St.Louis Park Minnesota votes to eliminate Pledge of Allegiance.”
“American people decide to eliminate St.Louis Park, Minnesota.(from our shopping and Christmas card list, of course.)”
That's a "trophy dog."
If they replaced it with an invocation that’s okay. The pledge of allegiance was written by a socialist. Only later was any mention of God added. Personally, I don’t like it. There’s no mention of the Constitution in it. And besides, we got along great without a pledge of allegiance for the first 100+ years.
Absolute Morons!
I’m with you. Stopped saying the pledge in 4th grade. Didn’t sit right. Flag first. Nation second. Founding principles not mentioned. Was not my thing.
