Rev. Thomas Brown, who is married to a fellow priest, was ordained as a bishop of the diocese of Maine in the Episcopal Church June 22. Immediately following his ordination, Brown referred to God as a "she" twice in the Nicene Creed.

"She is worshipped and glorified. She has spoken through the prophets," the just-ordained Bishop Brown said, referring to the Holy Spirit.

You wonder what fever swamp these people have wandered into....

Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson from “The Graduate”

And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Wo, wo, wo
God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio
A nation turns its lonely eyes to you
Woo, woo, woo
What’s that you say, Mrs. Robinson
Joltin’ Joe has left and gone away
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

He, he, he, he, he...

The Holy Spirit there is spoken of as “he.”

Again, when Jesus said God He meant God:

And Jesus said “God is a spirit...” and “... Him...must be worshipped in Spirit and in truth.”

Him.

Jesus referred to God as Him.

I can’t claim to be any kind of expert on the Trinity, and mean no offense to anyone - but the idea of assigning a human sex to God just seems ludicrous. No graven images, and all that.

You could argue in metaphors - God as giver of life is ‘woman like’ (of course it takes both sexes to create life among mammals and most plants); while the Bible does refer to Him in the masculine pronoun.

But to say “God is a Man” or “God is a woman” is, imo, to minimize the nature of God. Man and woman is neither omniscient, omnipresent, nor omnipotent. If someone wants to create a religion that worships man or woman (and some like this have existed over the ages) that’s their free will. But I don’t quite understand how someone can be ordained in a religion and then subvert its main tenets. It’s leftism - they are never content with their own beliefs, they must destroy alternative beliefs and impose their beliefs on everyone else.

Live and let live is dead.

Yup, even Evangelicals and Baptists aren’t immune to the march of Cultural Marxism. Everywhere it goes it leads to the same thing, empty pews.

Deuteronomy 4:2 New King James Version (NKJV):

2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

It is a very bad thing to try to put words into the mouth of God. That is what this pretend bishop is doing

GMTA - further: when the Father in Heaven is mentioned, Father means Creator. Where the Bible states “call no man Father” it’s saying call no man Creator. Maybe that’s where ‘dad’ came from since some Christian cults said they couldn’t call their own father, father.

If that section of the creed is rendered like this, there is no need for either he or she:

who proceedeth from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped
and glorified;
who spake by the Prophets.

That’s what is used in the Orthodox Church, minus the filioque.

I wonder what the alleged bishop did with the part that says, “the Lord, the giver of life”?

God is a He.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (John 15:1)

Unless he repents, this sodomite is going to burn. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

The “reverend bitchop” has created a god in his own image.

"If God created us in his own image, we have more than reciprocated." - Voltaire

Seems to be an appropriate quote for the circumstances

Here is a link to the Episcopal Nicene Creed

Basically what he did was to replace the gender of the Holy Spirit from male to female.

I'm Catholic and not Episcopal, but I was confused about how you only change 2 references to God in the Creed. The Holy Spirit is still God, but it's definitely different than saying he changed God to being a female. God is still the 'Father' and Jesus "his son".

Yep. There are still references that are gender-neutral but yes, I say “him” because it’s foundational in the book.

(I only grabbed a couple from John there to illustrate)
