Episcopalian Bishops are not required to believe in God and most do not. They do enjoy playing dress up.

In the Nicene Creed, both the original 325 version and the revised 381 version, the word for God is masculine, as are the words for Father and for Son. The word for Spirit (Pneuma) is neuter in Greek.

In ancient Greek, the word meaning "god" (theos) can be either masculine or feminine--in Athenian inscriptions the moon is sometimes referred to as a goddess using the word theos. But if there is an article or adjective modifying theos it will be unambiguously masculine or feminine. In the Nicene Creed the word theos is modified by the masculine form of the word for "one."

Jesus revealed the Father to his disciples — not the mother, not the indeterminate what-you-will.

In this day and age, just be thankful he/she/it believes there is a God.

Hey Brother why don’t you try an Apostolic Penticostal Church, under the United Pentecostal Churches International, UPCI, we teach and preach the Word, get loud in worship, and we like to eat, you name it, we will have a pot luck for it. :)

Yes, it really is. Why there is such amazement in the episcopal church (the over the top loonies of the un-reformed non-traditional Anglicans, aka.. the church moderne) that parishoners are leaving in droves? To go to what— the unitarian church of non-commitment, and non-scripture?

The homo priest married to a man— what major “flock” does this serve- except both of their own narcissistic crowd of clowns virtue signalling to each other in mental illness?

Make up on a whore— very good, keeping that for future use.

As for your motivating tag name—....,Ego agree— Duc, sequere, aut de medio fiat. Si non praecedit canis sententiam mutare numquam.

In August of 2001 the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) estabalished a "Full Communion Partnership" with The Episcopal Church through the adoption of "Called to Common Mission".

Therefore:

Lutheran (EL C S*A) Ping!

* as of August 19, AD 2009, a liberal protestant SECT, not part of the holy, catholic and apostolic CHURCH.

<1>I predict that the Catholic Church will be forced into making major reforms that will be imposed on it by the laity within 20 years.

Not a chance!!

If these people had even a modicum of honesty or integrity, they’d just start their own religion where they can promote these beliefs as freely as the like. But, apparently, they don’t.

Well, Henry VIII is kinda the father of it all. He was willing to destroy his wive (wives), split his church, decapitate the best men in his kingdom and violently oppressa fair number of his subjects, in order to pursue his lusts.

The difference between a lustful, prideful homo and a lustful, prideful hetero is not a moral difference. It's simply a matter of taste.

"I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life..."

Our Lord the Holy Spirit.

He would have said that every time said he Nicene Creed.

Not that he believed it...

It's true that biological sex is biological,not theological. It is not in the nature of a purely spiritual entity be one sex or another.

However, Jesus, in addition to being divine, also had a human nature: he was (humanly speaking) male, and always will be. Even His glorified body is male, because it's Him, Jesus.

He called the First Person of the Trinity "Father" 255 times. That should tell you something.

I'm not saying it's all clear, nor that it's at all limited to what humans (and animals) know of sexual dimorphism for reproductive purposes.

But I don't see how sex-linked words and concepts could be irrelevant. Surely they're part of the message.

These Anti-Christ Satanists really make me laugh. The Lake of Fire will be full of deluded clowns like this “Bishop”.

"As if G-d has reproductive organs...."

I get what you're saying: a spiritual entity does not have mammalian reproductive characteristics and limitations.

However, Christians are convinced, and would argue, that God both begets and is begotten: it's all part of a mysterious but revealed theology that God is a Trinity of One. Or, if you like, a Unity of Three.

This is not a Math Problem. (1=3?) This a way to approach, with our finite minds, the reality that God is Love. And Love is not just One-self, self-loving One-Self: that would be not Love, but infinite egotism.

Not everybody accepts a Trinitarian theology. We know that.

But for those who do, we have to be exceedingly careful how it's defined, knowing that it in fact goes beyond what we can grasp, and cannot be boiled down to human concepts.

I always feel I ought not even to talk about it, unless I am on my knees.

Anyone who pops up and says, "Oh wait, I get it, I totally get it" --- really ain't got it.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of Henry VIII, what with his reasons.

Having said that, the Anglican church is barely a pale shadow of its former self. It USED to at least preach the Law and Gospel accurately back in the 40s, but not any more.

For the past 1000 years, Catholic priests in the West have overwhelmingly been vowed to celibacy. Though this has not always been so, nor is it even now univeral. (For instance, married Orthodox or Anglican priests who convert to Catholicism, remain married to their wives even if, after becoming Catholic, they serve as Catholic priests.)

However: the Catholic Catechism states that IN NO CASE can same-sex (man/man or woman/woman) relations be justified.

So, the Episcopalian Church is now allowing what the Catholic Church cannot, and will never, allow.

Clive Staples Lewis well understood sex and gender. To paraphrase:

God the Father is not male, but is Masculine.

I'm not sure that grammatical gender always corresponds to biological sex, though --- maybe some Hebrew and Greek scholars could explain that for us.

I do know that in many languages, grammatical gender does not necessarily correspond to sex. Spanish, for instance:

head = la cabeza (fem)
body = el cuerpo (masc)

page = la pagina (fem)
book=el libro (masc)

rat = la rata (fem)
mouse = el raton (masc)

So, just because "pneuma" (Greek: breath, spirit, or soul) is grammatically female, it doesn't necessarily mean that breathing, or being a spirit, are particularly feminine.

Mary is the Mother of God (that is, the mother of a son, Jesus, and this son of hers is God Incarnate).

She is not the mother of the Trinity. Not the mother of the Father. Not the mother of the Holy Spirit.

Nor is she a "Mother-God" (that is, a goddess, a divine person.)
