Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is set to announce his plans for the 2020 Alabama senate race on Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Ballroom in Montgomery.
Moore lost the U.S. Senate race in 2017 amid allegations of sexual misconduct with teenagers. Moore denied the allegations. President Donald Trump last month tweeted that Moore cannot win and said Republicans need to retake the seat in the once reliable red state. Democratic Sen. Doug Jones currently holds the position.
The event is open to invited guests and credentialed press.

No alternatives are necessary. Moore should receive our enthusiastic support.. Hes pro-life, pro-God, anti-sodomy and hes already survived a leftist supported smear campaign. (supported by some here, I might add)
Amen brother! I can't believe some of the comments I am reading on this thread. You Freepers talking down Roy Moore are doing the work of the leftists for them. I am in Alabama and SUPPORT MOORE ALL THE WAY! Screw the leftists and their filthy smear machine.

ROY MAY BE A GOOD CONSERVATIVE, BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO WIN AN ELECTION.. I think he's already answered that question.
To: Hugh the Scot
If Roy Moore is the GOP nominee and I lived in Alabama I would vote for him.
However, the guy is a awful candidate and should be sent packing in the primaries. He is a loser who should have quit politics a long time ago.
He may be the only candidate who would lose to anti-life, anti-God, pro-sodomy Doug Jones -- in one of the most conservative states in the U.S., mind you. That right there ought to tell you everything you need to know about Roy Moore.

Democrats turned Moore into a cartoon character from the Jim Crow days. True or not doesn’t matter any more. Winning the seat is what matters and IMHO it’s unlikely Moore is going to be able to do that.

He did quite well last time He managed to lose a long-held GOP Senate seat in an R+28 state.

Id be interested in hearing the Presidents opinion on Sessions running. That would make for interesting Tweets, wouldn't it?

You Freepers talking down Roy Moore are doing the work of the leftists for them Wrong. America needs that Senate seat back that Roy Moore managed to lose to a liberal dem. The voters of Alabama have already spoken on the matter.

His Hannity interview. Hannity gave him softball questions for the opportunity to defend himself. He failed. He needs to just go away.

Sessions is 72. Considering running??
We need new blood in some of these seats.
That seems to be the Dem plan also....new blood.
To: JonPreston
Im sure McConnell and McCarthy will put up a solid, country club conservative for the Georgia folks to gag on. It's Alabama.

What is it that you feel disqualifies the Judge?
He lost once, is likely to lose again, and the whole ballgame right now is resting on a thin wobbly GOP margin in the Senate. The risks of supporting him are just too great.

Alabama folks would surely vote for Sessions rather than Moore.

We need someone young enough to hold the seat for 2 terms minimum. An easier reelection in 2026 would allow resources to be spent on other races.

I'm sure President Trump would enthusiastically support him. Seriously.
Although he might say: "He never should have left the Senate in the first place!" LOL.
