Pete Buttigieg told "Axios on HBO" that "we've probably had excellent presidents who were gay we just didn't know which ones."
Why it matters: Buttigieg, who is rising in polls and would be the first openly gay nominee of either party, talks easily about his sexual orientation when asked. This comment is a new window into his thinking.
Transcript
"Axios on HBO:" "Republicans claimed that John Kerry was a traitor in Vietnam. That Barack Obama was a Muslim. If you were to win the nomination, they'll say you're too young, too liberal, too gay to be commander-in-chief. You are young. You are a liberal. You are gay. How will you respond?"
Pete Buttigieg: "I'll respond by explaining where I want to lead this country. People will elect the person who will make the best president. And we have had excellent presidents who have been young. We have had excellent presidents who have been liberal. I would imagine we've probably had excellent presidents who were gay we just didn't know which ones."
"Axios on HBO:" "You believe that we've had a gay commander-in-chief?"
Pete Buttigieg: "I mean, statistically, it's almost certain."
"Axios on HBO:" "In your reading of history, do you believe you know who they were?"
Pete Buttigieg: "My gaydar even doesn't work that well in the present, let alone retroactively. But one can only assume that's the case."

Only bigots really care about stuff like this.
We may have had unicorns too, we just didn’t see them.
Interesting.
Well, DUH. Everyone knows.
It’s weird. There must be a genetic thing..............
FABULOUS! Never saw this one before!
“...a window into his thinking.” He’s obsessed with one thing. And no, thanks, I don’t want to look through that window.
Yes he is right on the money as we had bathhouse Barry a Marxist and a closet (m)uslim to boot, unfortunately by popular demand.
I could not find it via google nor duckduckgo image searches, until I added "freerepublic" to the search string! Then, it came up quickly.
In any case, I saved it to my own copy. It's a classic.
On the other hand, we've had a couple of good, Constitution-respecting presidents too, Madison and Jefferson on the short list.
Mr. Buttigieg evidently does not understand that the only sex-related right that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect deals only with voting issues, evidenced by the 19th Amendment. That amendment gives Congress the express power to make sex-related protection laws only in the context of voting issues imo.
19th Amendment:
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation [emphasis added]."
In fact, consider that probably most of the wider range of sex-related rights protected by the Democratic vote-winning Civil Rights Act of 1964 and associated Title IX are based on stolen state powers imo.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
In other words, politicians like Buttigieg need to remain in state politics to push their politically correct agendas without establishing protected / privileged classes or abridging constitutionally enumerated protections while maintaining a republican form of government.
Remember in November 2020!
MAGA!
Barry clearly played for both sides as some point in his life...
Buchanan is largely regarded as the worst president ever, and the one who has had homosexual rumors about him.
However, people have survived bullets in their heads too, that doesn’t mean you ask to be shot in the head...
Stupid reasoning.
Powder Puff Pete, intellectually is easily smarter by 1/2 than the rest of the Dem field, but his pandering lately is just turning him into a joke... I believed he’d be a real player in 2024.. but the more he panders, the less likely I see that being the case.
The difference between then and now is, they kept it to themselves.
Now they are shoving it down our throats and our children’s throats. Friggin mental retards.
A claim without any substance whatsoever. You could just as credibly assert we’ve “almost certainly” had extraterrestrial presidents.
This posting by FRs says it best and when printed up makes a good bumper sticker or poster;
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3749188/posts/#40
it reads CELEBRATE PERVERSITY against a rainbow background I suggest adding VOTE PERVOCRAT when you print it up and put it below
I would lean toward Buchanan, who had a disastrous presidency.
To paraphrase Paul Simon...
“Still funny after all these years”
William Rufus DeVane King was Buchanan’s little woman The Democrats, being the America hating scum that they are, allowed to be sworn in in Cuba while he was getting treatment for the illness that eventually killed him.
