The rules are “stupid” because there is no better way in existence to detect current intoxication.
Until there is a better test for pot intoxication, the company nd its owner are liable.

Ahh I see your point. In regards to the thc percentage - all the weed in the dispensaries are sold with how much THC, thca, th brings, Cbd, etc on the label. However I have no idea how that measures in a persons body.
I am completely against using any substance while or before work or driving, etc. Im simply stating that on someones free time, the same laws that cover alcohol should include marijuana. And I hope to God no one has even a single sip of alcohol before flying a plane.

You’re welcome. Ask some Prohibitionist what is the difference between being stoned and being drunk? Both are being under the influence of course but really, what’s the difference?

Exactly. They need a new test to determine if a person is under the influence of marijuana at the time of testing. Currently, they cant tell.

I used to get shit faced drunk on the job at lunch time. That was 29 years ago. I don't live that way anymore. I'm sober but I am fed up to my eye teeth with the Prohibitionist bs and hypocrisy. If you want to keep weed illegal then bring back Prohibition. Christ sake I'm so sick of people with an attitude like yours.

Exactly. Both are under the influence. One has the potential to act like a moron the more they partake tho. The other may take a nap. How many black out from alcohol, get in fights, get dick, destroy their liver, have oh crap moments the next day over alcohol. Alcohol in my book is far more dangerous when over used.
But, I hope neither is over used. Were both referring to moderate, recreational usage. Anyone who over indulged in most anything - including food is going to suffer consequences. So, I agree. Under the influence is under the influence in regards to both booze or weed.

We have younger relatives of both sexes (yeah only 2), who are middle management and above in industries where use of any illegal drug is banned for safety reasons.
Random drug tests are used, and termination occurs with a confirming drug tests shows recent use.
They saw this bs coming and now this endangers the random testing policies.
Actually, the state doesn't have to force this; if the state already legalized MJ, then it doesn't fall under "use of any illegal drug". A drug test showing marijuana use won't matter, because it's no longer an illegal drug, and doesn't fall under any kind of illegal-drug-use policies.

Due process! Government is denying businesses the right to set their hiring standards.
No, due process is by its very name a procedural and not a substantive limitation; its illegitimate expansion into the substance of laws was done by liberals and has benefited only liberals.

So, this must include also police? School bus drivers? Long-haul truck driver? And other jobs that require drug-free employees?

Federal law requires a drug test for any job requiring a commercial driver’s licence, and that would supercede any state law that says otherwise.

Were I a business owner, I would not hire any person who flunked a drug test.
Were I challenged by the state, I would hire the best lawyer available and take the case all the way to the SCOTUS.
I am not a lawyer, but it seems to me that this law should not be allowed to stand!

This is a great decision. Anyone taking CBD oil from cannabis for pain, never getting high for one second, would not be able to work in NV. That isnt fair.

Man, you people are wildly misinformed and intolerant.
1. you wouldnt like it if employers could test for any beer youve had in the last 2 weeks, and fired you for it. Why should someone who had a joint at a party 2 weeks ago be fired?
2. As I said previously, people who never get high for one second but take CBD oil for pain not be able to work? Advil is fine, CBD oil is not?

So pilots, school bus drivers, truck drivers, train engineers, subway operators, aircraft maintenance personnel, transit fire‐armed security personnel, ship captains, etc. that live in Nevada are now exempt from MJ testing? Don't think so: https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/medical-marijuana-notice
