The AXA Equitable Center (originally The Equitable Tower or Equitable Center West) is an American 752-foot-tall skyscraper, located at 787 Seventh Avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets in Manhattan, New York City.
The buildings roof was involved in a helicopter-related crash around 1:50 PM on Monday, June 10th 2019. A fire resulted in this crash landing, with a single fatality of the lone helicopter occupant reported, and no injuries or fatalities of building occupants noted.
The fire was relayed to have been contained as of 2:20 PM, and evacuations were said to have taken place for building occupants of this and surrounding buildings. Helicopter crashes into New York City building. Retrieved June 10, 2019.
It is currently unknown why this helicopter crashed, or why the helicopter was in the area. The area in particular is under a no-fly-zone restriction.

If you look at the structure’s picture, you won’t see anything near large enough to be a helipad. He was just trying to put down safely somewhere and ran out of options.
