Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave credit to her fellow Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh on Friday, touting the court's newest member for boosting the number of female law clerks serving the court.
Ginsburg, in prepared remarks to a conference for judges in New York, noted that while women have made progress towards equal representation among the court's clerks there are areas where improvements are still needed.
"Justice Kavanaugh made history by bringing on board an all-female law clerk crew. Thanks to his selections, the Court has this Term, for the first time ever, more women than men serving as law clerks," she said, according to remarks released by the court.
"[But] women did not fare nearly as well as advocate," Ginsburg continued. "Only about 21 percent of the attorneys presenting oral argument this Term were female. Of the 34 attorneys who appeared more than once, only six were women."
Her remarks come several months after Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the court last year after a fraught confirmation battle that centered around allegations of sexual misconduct, followed through on a promise he made during the nomination process to appoint an all-women team of law clerks.
Just one of the four women appointed by Kavanaugh last October had clerked for him previously, according to The New York Times, while the others reportedly worked largely for appeals court judges appointed by Republicans.

They can say Kavanaugh only wants more female clerks because it increases his chances of finding more victims to drug and rape.

Actually, I've checked out a lot of links on this supposed "speech." None of them say she actually delivered the address in person, just buzz phrases like "she said, in prepared remarks" or "according to remarks released by the court."

How about we celebrate the Justice who assembles the best team of law clerks regardless of their sex or race? As a father, I would be annoyed if my son was kept from the position by a less-qualified female but also if my daughter was kept from the position by a less-qualified male.
Isn’t that unfair of the judge?
Of course the are qualified. They are female.
Just like AOC is qualified to be a Congressman.
