The massive Baby Boomer generation which brought America the happiness of rock & roll and the Ford Mustang en masse is poised to trigger a surge in a scourge:
Senior hunger.

People such as the elderly are only homeless & hungry when Republicans are in the WH. When Rats are in office Rat Manna falls from heaven, clothing is found on rose bushes & shelter springs up out of the ground like mushrooms!
I hope you know what you’re doing with the wild mushrooms.
When I lived in Michigan we had the annual morel hunt.
Like clockwork each year you could predict that 5 to 6 people would be reported on the evening news to have died as a result of eating toadstools.
At Sam’s, you can buy a large whole roasted chicken for $5
There are similar but smaller roasted chickens at most grocery stores.
We have morels on our property and huge puffers (8” diameter).
I was sent to the hospital once for taking a bite out of a poisonous mushroom about 20 years ago. It was the big orange one with square white flecks in it. The poison is in the orange. Eat the stem and you’re fine. I ate the orange.
I used to hunt “coral” mushrooms on Mt St Helens before it blew.
Mmmm Chicken and dumplings...
Bingo on that.
When Reagan was President, the homeless population exploded. Or so the media told us.
Under Carter, Clinton and obozo these problems didn’t exist in their world.
It happens to most of us eventually.
It got me young.
10 years ago I was a buck.
My senior hunger began about an hour ago.
I took care of it myself.
Like all of the rest of us that prepared does.
My advice- Change your name to Juan Valdez then go apply for political asylum. Youll get treated like royalty.
Yes, it is. Maybe on holidays I spend more, but typically I spend <$5 /day, unless I go out for lunch. I know this because I buy almost all my food from the local Lidl, and most months I barely make my $150 reward goal. And that includes alcohol and usually a few small items of clothes or housewares. The quality is good, and if you shop the specials, you get it cheap.
I want to live on the big rock candy mt. :)
this!!!!!
I personally think we should not burden our children nor our grandchildren anymore then we already have.....
elderly get SS and Medicare which can afford them a decent retirement, something that many middle aged and young people will never have..
I worry much more about the working middle class and young families..they're the ones that need help.....
Such wonderful comments. The elderly were respected in this country also for generations. But that has changed in the last 50 years or so. Really a sad thing. Now they just want to throw the old folks in a nursing home.
It’s another casualty in the War on the Nuclear Family.
Children are supposed to take care of their elderly parents, not that State, or some Somalian “Nanny”.
So true.
...and now many of the elderly ARE their parasite childrens own personal nest egg.
“The people that dont have it so good are the poor, who live in food deserts.”
And whose fault is that? Retailers know that if they open up in those areas they will be robbed blind by shoplifters, not to mention armed robbery. Why should they put their profitability and their employees well being at stake to help losers who do not deserve or appreciate it?
A couple of of years ago Trader Joe’s was going to open a store in a poor area of Portland, OR. Local “community leaders” demanded that bribes be paid. TJ said “NO” and cancelled the project. Those Germans knew they were doing them a favor and were not going to put up with that in return.
