Michael Bennet Points The Finger At Mitch McConnell Over Virginia Beach Shooting

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) announced his candidacy a few weeks ago. He made an appearance on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" and one of the issues that came up was last week's tragic shooting in Virginia Beach.

Naturally, Bennet argued for stricter gun control laws. What's shocking, however, is his blame game. Bennet infer Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is responsible for what took place because he fails to bring gun control bills before the Republican-dominated Senate.

"I think the president can make a difference. The House of Representatives have passed background checks to close the internet loophole. This person bought the guns lawfully as we know. Every single fact pattern will be different. We should pass those background checks. 90 percent of Americans support it," Bennet said.

Uh, pretty sure it was some employee there that did the shooting bennet. Oh, because mm doesn't bring bills to the floor. Perhaps this demidate needs to confer with cory fartacus booker on solutions. This is starting to become like being pulled over for going 55 in a 55 because chasing the guy going 70 could be troublesome. I did notice he mentioned the "internet loophole". Is that the same "internet loophole" obxxx told brazilians about where we can buy machine guns on the 'net' with no problem?

I would ask these buffoons if all of the shootings we had in prior years were Obama’s fault.

I’m sure that would shut them up rather nicely.

Indeed, a government worker with authorized access to the building. And it was a FedGov employee or contract employee at Las Vegas. Perhaps the real answer lies in too many government employees with guns, especially local and state.

I notice that the responding civilian police mostly brought two or three guns with them. Perhaps the real problem was a gun shortage.

I just want to sincerely apologize for the politicians produced by my fellow Coloradans. The uni-party is strong here as evidenced by the quality/dishonesty of our dem governor and dem/repub state and federal representatives/senators. I feel almost as ashamed as if I lived in romney’s state of Utah.

With apologies for taking the thread a bit sideways... I would be interested to know a few things about the awful perp. (Answers might exist, I just haven't seen them.)

Were there any narcotic or psychotropic drugs (pushed or prescribed) in his blood at the time of the crime?

Was he then, or has he ever been under psychiatric care? Schizophrenia or other psychoses? (And, did he have any psych issues that would have disqualified him from passing a background check, if he were not lying on the forms?)

What about any statements on social media or suicide notes?

Political interests and activities? (I did read that he was a registered Dem.)

What about any physical disease, e.g. brain tumor that sort of thing?

.

The question is will government actually run appropiate background checks on it’s own employees.

“...internet loophole? Wass dat?..”

That’s the one where you buy at ...let’s say Bud’s Gun Shop...then it’s shipped to your local FFL and you go in, fill out the paper work and get a background check. That’s a “loophole” to these schwantzlutschers.

I buy thousands of machine guns on the net and sell them to high school kids. Great racket, you should get in on it while it lasts!

Bennett is a liar and like most Dems, uses “facts” that fit his narrative — even though his facts aren’t facts. Typical.

“After Columbine in Colorado, the people of this western state voted to close the gun show loophole and internet loophole,” he said.

“After Columbine... “ Columbine happened 1999 and we got our fancy background checks 2013. 14 years after doesn’t count as cause and effect so that is a lie.

“the people of this western state” no we were out protesting in the snow and not allowed in to the chambers while Mark Kelly and other out of state gun grabbers testified and our legislature was on the phone with VP Biden. Bennet is a liar

“It’s impossible to argue that our state isn’t safer because of this law.”

In fact, while those laws were being passed, the Republicans wanted to put in an amendment that called for review of the effect of the laws to be studied and the laws sunsetted if they didn’t effect crime rates. A Dem representative said that the laws were only to make people feel safe and could not be expected to effect crime rates. So, no one is actually willing to argue that these laws do make us safer. Bennet is a liar.
