Attorney General William Barr in an interview that aired Friday morning said he has approached the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, about forming a group of officials to deal with election security issues for the 2020 election and beyond.
In an interview with "CBS This Morning," Barr said that the U.S. efforts to counter efforts by Russia and other governments to meddle in U.S. affairs was becoming "increasingly robust."
"Yes, we do have, I think, an increasingly robust program that is focusing on foreign influence in our election process," Barr told CBS.
"I talked recently to the director of the FBI about putting together a special high-level group to make sure we're totally prepared for the upcoming elections," he added.
During this interview, he also addressed concerns from Democrats about his use of the word "spying" to describe early surveillance efforts against members of the Trump campaign related to the now-shuttered investigation into the Trump campaign and Russian election interference.
Democrats have hammered Barr for his use of the term during a House appropriations subcommittee hearing earlier this year, when Barr said that he believed "spying" did occur targeting the Trump campaign while adding that he did not take a position on its legality. Questions about its legality, he added in the interview airing Friday, remain.
"You know, it is part of the craziness of the modern day that if a president uses a word then all of a sudden it becomes off bounds, it is a perfectly good English word, I will continue to use it," Barr said.
"Like many other people who are familiar with intelligence activities, I had a lot of questions about what was going on," he continued. "I assumed I'd get answers when I went in, and I have not gotten answers that are, well, satisfactory."
Barr has ordered a team of prosecutors to examine the early stages of the Russia investigation and has vowed to determine whether conduct by the FBI and DOJ surrounding the investigation crossed into unethical territory.
His first sit-down interview comes just days after special counsel Robert Mueller resigned from his position at a press conference, declaring the investigation over while adding that he could not exonerate the president of wrongdoing.
You’ve got Romney family ownership of IIRC a ballot machine company that has since had to admit that it shipped some machines with PC Anywhere all installed, so cheaters just had to hit some buttons on their phones in rough proximity of the machines to change the counts.
Then there is the infamous “fractional voting” for programming results from a central location.
I believe Jimmy Carter was somehow involved in the first known compromised voting software in LATAM somewhere too.
American Intelligence Media has done a lot of reporting on this. (As has Bev somebody on the fractional voting. I believe it was a young black programmer in SC that discovered that scam originally.)
Soros and the UK gov involved with other voting machine companies, too, I believe.
Ok FBI, how about we start here. If any Judge in the country decides to re-write election law on the night of or the day after the election. Call CNN and ask them to Raid his house in the morning!
Who put Wray in this position?
Well that settles it folks. Bill Barr is Jeff Sessions 2.0. Putting the FBI in charge of election security? Is he joking? I’m sorry folks but Bill Barr just completely lost all credibility.
I believe the old thinking was that Dems would cheat and add an extra 5%. Republicans had to win by that much and more in order to officially win.
I believe in 2016, the Dems went all in and added an extra 10%. That was why Hillary couldn’t possibly lose. Cheating by such a huge margin guaranteed her victory. And that is why the Dems have been in shock that it didn’t work out.
I believe in 2020 the Dems will add 20 to 25% to the vote. Why wouldn’t they??

Biden’s son has suspicious connections with Ukraine and China already, getting billion-dollar deals soon after his father visits each country.

Since McCabe is not going to be charged they ought to hire him for Outside Council on this. He has a lot of experience with elections and dealing with the press. Maybe Barr should hire Comey too since he will be done with his book tour.

The most urgent issue about safety of the US election is illegals who are allowed (urged) to vote and brought here for JUST that reason.
The DNC has complicity in all this. Why not just say it and be perfectly honest?
The illegals ARE foreign and DO/WILL influence the outcome when they vote here.

Seriously. What the hell is keeping Barr from “getting to the bottom” of how the FBI/DOJ “interfered” in our LAST Presidential election? Because he sure seems to have quite a hitch in his get along regarding those crimes.
Carter was “invited” by Chavez to be an “election observer” which is about impossible to pretend he did from a luxury hotel room guarded by a Secret Service contingent but he did go and actually claim he accomplished his task (through ESP, perhaps) and then after the election he claimed it was “fair” when he knew damn well it wasn’t.

Barr is claiming he is being stonewalled in his investigation into the origins of the intelligence operations against Trump.
CBS gave a different narrative yesterday:
Does Barr think Obama officials committed treason? "Not as a legal matter, no"
CBS is trying to muddy the waters or Barr is offering mixed messages (perhaps to disarm people under investigation?)
Treason has a pretty high threshold of criteria to be met. Now breaking the law is another question and the answer will be different, as a legal matter.
There isn't anything new or different.
This is a manufactured narrative by Democrats and the Democratic Media Complex.
Democrats are trying to make it sound like this is unprecedented but it's the same 'poking for holes' and trying to sow discord by Russia.
And Democrats are correct. They believe their own hype and are increasing discord for the Russians.
