Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex, seemed as surprised as everyone else when he admitted he agreed with a proposal put forward by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY.

I don’t think it should be legal at ALL to become a corporate lobbyist if you’ve served in Congress.
At minimum there should be a long wait period.

If we can agree on a bill with no partisan snuck-in clauses, no poison pills, etc - just a straight, clean ban on members of Congress becoming paid lobbyists - then I’ll co-lead the bill with you.

Sounds like a good deal, as long as they dont put some added pork nonsense in it, Dems(And many in the GOP) love adding pork..if its a clean bill just about lobbyists sounds good to me

Used to be that if you retired from the Military you couldn’t work for a Defense contractor ESPECIALLY if it entailed you retiring as a Col on Fri and show up Monday in a suit and tie, now the Contractors rep.
