Why the AJC is reporting the MLK sex allegations
Atlanta Journal Constitution ^ | May 30, 2019 | Ty Tagami

Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer David J. Garrow, an authority on Martin Luther King Jr., offered his explosive story on King to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and reportedly to other U.S. publications before it was published in Great Britain.

The AJC turned down Garrow’s offer.

The piece, which reveals new sexual allegations against the civil rights icon, was published in Standpoint, a United Kingdom-based cultural and political magazine. It was also offered to The Atlantic and The Washington Post, according to Standpoint. The AJC declined to run the piece because it was based on information that would in some cases be impossible to independently verify, said AJC editor Kevin Riley.

He said the AJC chose to report on Garrow’s article now that it has been published. AJC editors decided that the piece should be covered as a news story in King’s hometown, distilling it for an Atlanta audience, he said.

See my post #59. From our dinner conversation with Dr. Abernathy (who probably knew MLK better than anyone), I have serious doubts that MKK abused, much less raped any women. The way Dr. Abernathy described it, there were literally swarms of women who threw themselves at him wherever he traveled.

Even looking at those grainy old news clips, it is clear he radiated charisma everywhere he went. But, yeah, he had zipper control problems. Even his best friend volunteered that information.

No, you have to remember how the FBI thinks. When they don’t want to declassify something, they float rumors about that something being really bad so that *you* won’t want it declassified.

In the meantime, the FBI is hiding that it authored the MLK suicide letter, then broke James Earl Ray out of prison, gave him vast sums of cash, multiple fake passports, a rifle, ammo, and MLK’s location.

It is Abernathy himself that said King got violent with women.

Also some here have said they were aware he beat prostitutes.

I suspect some of the violence was during the orgies.

“It has never been news, leaked spying on an American citizen was known early on about MLK.”

I heard about this around 1969 or 1970 from a college friend whose father was a columnist for the old Washington Evening Star. (Everything except for the claim that MLK witnessed a rape.)

“””The details about orgies and a rape witnessed by King are recounted in FBI memos that were released last year”””

The AJC also has had the past year to look into those records. Gee, I wonder why they had no interest in taking a peek to see if there was anything in the files regarding MLK.

I suspect it was well known among ‘those who know’ that the files contained major negatives about MLK.

It all depends on your definition of “communist”. Heck, I was once called a communist (”commie”, actually) on FR because I disagreed with someone here on some silly issue.

Perhaps so. Some guys with zipper control problems, maybe most of them, don't understand the line between violence and what they would just call "rough sex."

It is entirely possible that the FBI files were embellished or even doctored. We saw what they are capable of during the Mueller investigation. However, I do think J. Edgar Hoover was mostly a good and faithful public servant, quite opposite the partisan hack James Comey.

It is also clear that Ralph Abernathy greatly admired and respected MLK from our dinner conversation of some four decades ago. He must have done something to deserve it.

2027 is when the entire MLK file is scheduled for release, although there is a move afoot to release it early. His statues and holiday should be removed because this won’t be a pretty picture.

Reminder: Trump is not a perfect man in terms of marriage and possibly fidelity. We all have flaws. So let’s maybe look at the message and the bigger picture of a person’s actions before rushing to judgement on a single aspect of a person’s life.

I agree completely. We already knew that MLK was flawed and imperfect but I still honor what he did with his life. His adultery has been known for decades thanks to RFK and Hoover (FBI and DOJ spying is not new). I respect what he did, what he risked and how he suffered. I do not respect the way his name has been used by race baiters for half a century, nor do I agree with smearing him today.

If Reverend King had just had “an affair,” that would be one thing. But that’s not all that happened.

The FBI tapes/transcripts report that King and his inner circle staff regularly engaged in orgies and other group perversions. That’s very different than a husband having an “affair,” not that there is any excuse for a supposedly Christian man screwing around on his wife.

The Rat fake news media covered up King’s sexual proclivities—just like the way they covered for the sicko misogynist Kennedy men and Bill the Rapist Clinton. Two reasons: (1) the fake news Rats are as a group are adulterous immoral skanks/pr*cks themselves and (2) misogynistic and predatory behavior by Rat politicians is ignored because it doesn’t fit their fake news melodrama script.

It’s not just ‘today’ and it may get worse every 4-6 months as the JFK files are released. On the expiration date of JFK’s files, articles about King began popping up saying much of the same things. 2011, 2013, 2017 & 2018. Every time a new batch is opened there’s some MLK files. These files are subject to FOIA requests. The last batch had 54,000 links and some with attachments up to 500 pages. And Jackie O discussed King’s ‘ disgusting activities’ during an interview with Schlesinger in 1964

There is a legitimate reason why so many in Congress, fought against the MLK holiday. Most of them knew about this stuff. I reckon they figured by burying King’s files among the JFK assassination files, no one would see them for a very long time. Basically, let someone deal with it, 50 years later. The King family went before a judge and had the tapes seal extended until 2027. Hoover had sent Corretta one of the worst ones, several years before.

Unfortunately for King, the sexual escapades that were recorded in various cities are confirmed by his endless phone chatter where he discussed what had transpired the nights before. He would phone to invite new men and women to join in the games. So there’s lots of names, phone numbers and hotel rooms which collaborate everything. They also have a few detailed interviews from other participants.

And there’s Abernathy, the CR leader who was with King most the time and continued the CR movement after his demise, In 1989, Rev. Ralph Abernathy wrote his biography and included the night King died. He discussed the different women with King the night that he was murdered, included a physical altercation with the final woman with King.

MLK Day: In the fall of 1983, then-Governor Meldrim Thompson of New Hampshire wrote to President Ronald Reagan, urging him to veto any bill creating a national holiday for King. Reagan responded, “I have the reservations you have, but here the perception of too many people is based on an image, not reality. Indeed, to them, the perception is reality.”

Surely everyone in DC knew, but the general public had no clue.

Hoover did not need to embellish a thing, there was plenty of action as confirmed by many. He was not discreet, not in the least. Abernathy can King worked hand in hand for years; they were inseparable. His wife comforted Mrs. King the night MLK died and he cradled MLK’s head after he was shot. He also covered for years of King’s infidelities and activities for a decade. But, I doubt very much he was a participant. You might want to take a peek at his book, here is what the LA Times had written in 1990.

From LA Times cache....

By 1980, when he declared his support of Ronald Reagan for President, he was firmly out of the civil rights mainstream. Abernathy supported Jesse Jackson in 1984 and 1988, but the publication last year of his autobiography, “And the Walls Came Tumbling Down,” triggered a deafening outcry from black activists nationwide.

In the book, Abernathy devoted a few pages to accounts of King’s extramarital affairs, including details of King’s sexual exploits on the night of April 3, 1968, the night before he was murdered.

Abernathy wrote that King spent part of the night with two women and that, during an argument with a third woman who was jealous, “knocked her across the bed.”

So this is nothing more than sensationalizing unverified scandal schemes, no different than circulating two Russian whores urinated on a future President.

A lot more like Hillary didn't intend to handle secret documents in a dangerous wy.

The core of his staff and his speech writer were long term members and office holders of CPUSA. The wiretap was authorized by Bobby specifically because Kings involvement with

Levison. Stanley Levison was the past Treasurer for CPUSA.

He was also King’s lawyer and basically chief of staff who then hired a few other other Reds into Kings organization.

Both Kennedys told King to get rid of Levison & cabal, MLK would not... and so they tapped him.
