Why the AJC is reporting the MLK sex allegations
Atlanta Journal Constitution ^ | May 30, 2019 | Ty Tagami

Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer David J. Garrow, an authority on Martin Luther King Jr., offered his explosive story on King to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and reportedly to other U.S. publications before it was published in Great Britain.

The AJC turned down Garrow’s offer.

The piece, which reveals new sexual allegations against the civil rights icon, was published in Standpoint, a United Kingdom-based cultural and political magazine. It was also offered to The Atlantic and The Washington Post, according to Standpoint. The AJC declined to run the piece because it was based on information that would in some cases be impossible to independently verify, said AJC editor Kevin Riley.

He said the AJC chose to report on Garrow’s article now that it has been published. AJC editors decided that the piece should be covered as a news story in King’s hometown, distilling it for an Atlanta audience, he said.

"He's been dead for 50 years now...how is this news today? "

It has never been news, leaked spying on an American citizen was known early on about MLK.

Makes one wonder why the AJC would publish this old information today...MLK did and does more for civil rights today even with feet of clay.

The bottom line is, somebody had to stand up and take those arrows in the 60s, and MLK took it upon himself to do it.

That’s why he deserves respect. We all know God uses flawed men for His purpose.

“He was a Christian.”

Bingo. Major Christian figure, so it’s a major takedown.

(And I’ll say he IS a Christian.)

It would have been a scandal by older standards too. Preachers have to be more careful than the average Joe because the devil is going to come at them from every angle he can.

It is thought he was bipolar. Clearly had very depressive states and had clear manic periods.

No idea if he took any medication for it. Likely not.

“He was a Christian.”

He was a CINO. He was a classic liberal theologian of his day — he rejected the basics (original sin, divine savior, virgin birth, etc.) and thought Jesus was a good man who accurately reflected God’s purposes.

The out of wedlock daughter is alive but refusing to talk.

I have seen her picture. I can’t tell if she is his daughter. She is some kind of psychologist.

I wish I’d known about this early this AM. I was at a breakfast / morning event where one of their main political reporters was present. I’d have loved to poke him on this.

A checkered figure, I wonder yet how much of his shenanigans was towards temptresses sent by government? Too easily moved by adulation, he should have told them to return to chastity.

"..IN SUM - if "FBI documents" are the basis for accusing MLK, then it should be considered complete bullshit until other sources can be found to confirm.."

Worth repeating.

Our FBI is currently "invalid". d:^)

I agree with you. I have learned to be skeptical of the press, a story based on secret documents that can't be verified needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Hypocrisy is said to be the tribute that vice pays to virtue.

The spiritual warfare King knew was more than being jailed, however. Some of it was carnal snares. They could not nullify his salvation status, but they could blunt his witness.

I’m guessing that a lot of info is about to come out that is going to make the deep state players look bad. They’ve used and abused MLK to suit their purposes for decades. This is just their latest move.

Perhaps they are going to try to link him to the Republicans while simultaneously dragging his reputation through the mud. Lots of blacks leaving the Democrat plantation and they are desperate. The Republican/infidelity issues have long been known by most people who cared to look. (I.e., not brainwashed by the left.)

Reminder: Trump is not a perfect man in terms of marriage and possibly fidelity. We all have flaws. So let’s maybe look at the message and the bigger picture of a person’s actions before rushing to judgement on a single aspect of a person’s life.

I have no opinion one way or another

Tapes will not be released until 2027-until then FBI transcripts mean nothing

I wouldn’t trust anything that rat LBJ did, I would take MLK’s word over that of LBJ, any day of the week.
