Things seem to be moving quickly now. It has been a remarkable few weeks in American history. Momentum is building toward uncovering the distasteful possibility that the targeting of a U.S. presidential campaign was actually a political operation, fostered at the highest levels of government, masquerading as an FBI counterintelligence investigation.
Attorney General William Barr has signaled that his interest in examining the origins of the investigation into the Trump campaign extends beyond whether the FBI operated by the book, as former FBI Director James Comey asserts. Barr also wants to understand the role that the larger intelligence community, or IC, may have played in all of this.
Barr has thrown punches that have left an interesting mix of characters with a standing eight count. Certain eyes around D.C. are a little glassy right now.
Barrs words and actions are telling. First, he raised the concern that the Trump campaign was spied upon. His use of the word spying appears more calculated than casual. The wailing and gnashing of teeth that followed is also telling. The FBI doesnt spy became the sputtering counter-refrain of those trying to mask their nervousness.
Its a fair point thats beside the point. The FBI is charged with acting under strict legal restrictions and court orders. Spying is not a term traditionally associated with those activities.
But it also misses the point Barr appears to be making. The IC does spy; thats what they do. Barr may have been referring less to the FBI and more to the ICs possible murky involvement.
This seems to be validated by Barrs second haymaker in as many weeks: his appointment of a surrogate investigator, U.S. Attorney John Durham. Why would the attorney general add a third investigation to those under way by Department of Justice Inspector General MichaeHorowitz...

Do I recall correctly that several Democrats or Dem staff/ operatives were subpoenaed by Republican Committees (when GOP held House) but refused to attend Congressional hearing despite subpoena?
bttt
Ditto. Until I see otherwise, I expect only the soft, steady sounds of government paws covering it over.
Meanwhile, we are being invaded from the south, and the Republicans in Congress are busy helping the Democrats to facilitate the process. And the wall has not been built.
What "Reps" are you talking about? Do you know something the rest of us don't know?
These investigations are centered on the wrongdoing and bad players in the DOJ, FBI and CIA.
This is the first time I have heard that congressman need to be "arrested and thrown out of office".
To be arrested, they would have be charged with some crime. What specifically are you talking about and who are the ones you are referring to?
The Krassenstein brothers' site is Hill Reporter.
That'll occur shortly after Trump's second inauguration.
Yes, the military was involved. NSA is military. And then many top military leaders have been working very hard to obstruct his leadership. Trump, Kelly, McMaster all come to mind.
While your skepticism is warranted, I would guess that the Dem’s refusal to let this Russia thing go - including the attacking of Barr - pretty much forces Barr to go all in on this investigation. Barr is now defending his reputation as well as the Office of President and the future integrity of the Justice Department, FBI, and CIA. Don’t think that Barr takes this lightly.
Even if legally a president could nominate a Supreme Court Justice even though they were under indictment, it would be a practical impossibility to get it approved in the Senate.
That’s Mattis rather than Trump,
I have the same fear. Where is the indictments! Until I see the first one I will not give full support to Barr, Durham, or the rest of the investigators. Fear a total failure. Damn it, prove me wrong and I pray I am.
BOOM!
Shoe drop!
BOOM!
TICK-TOCK!
BOOM!
What did I miss?
Oh, yes. Indictments in how many “business” days?
Do I recall correctly that several Democrats or Dem staff/ operatives were subpoenaed by Republican Committees......How about AG Eric Holder?
“...The squirming has begun.” ...”
Which is exactly why the Dems are throwing the “impeachment meeting” talking points out to their media buddies...
Just how many House members do you believe are honest, on either side of the aisle? That don’t take advantage of their positions to make tons of money? How many go to Washington with virtually nothing and come back multi-millionaires? They routinely commit fraud against the American people by lying to them about what they are doing. Nadler and his committee are effectively stealing money from the coffers of the Treasury by perpetuating this Trump investigation charade. The place is filthy and corrupt to the core. I have zero confidence in the honesty and integrity of about 90% of the SOBs that grace the halls of Congress. I view most of them as criminals.
TRUTH is the Democrats' worst NIGHTMARE!
The closer TRUTH comes to exposing them, the more desperate, hysterical, histrionic, delusional--AND DANGEROUS--they become!
Expect the worst!
Expect scorched earth!
Expect the lowest, vilest, most evil acts imaginable--and some that no one would imagine--as they fight to prevent TRUTH from illuminating them and their actions.
I was thinking along the same lines. Timing is everything. The criminal dems know this which is why they are pulling all the stops to keep Trump from being re-elected. He will start draining the swamp immediately. Well, not him personally, but people like Barr and others who are on the right side of the law.
You know that...
Reality sucks for those who don’t get it. Just watch the trends. Lucy and the football play on, yet some never get a clue. Oh, and it will not get better. Reality, not BS.
