Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that growing cauliflower in community gardens is 'taking a colonial approach to environmentalism.'

The firebrand New York Democrat took to Instagram to discuss how such gardens were a 'core component' of her proposed Green New Deal on Tuesday.

She discussed in the live broadcast how it was important that people of color felt they were able to grow foods familiar to them in these green spaces.

The 29-year-old said: 'What I love too is growing plants that are culturally familiar to the community. It's so important.'

I hope she gets started growing bananas and coffee beans in her South Bronx 'hood.

That ought to keep her busy for the rest of her life so we don't have to hear her idiocy anymore.

Haven’t “communities” learned to do new things for millennia? And what the hell does what she loves have to do with anything? And why am I wasting brain cells on this? Need more colonialist coffee.

While she's thinking of "Colonial" things, she might ponder what happened in Jamestown and Plymouth Colony when they experimented with collectivism.

When they failed to grow cauliflower, it was rumored that they ate the dead.

Would AOC blow a gasket if white people grew tomatoes in their garden considering the tomato was native to Pre-Colombian America?

If you agree with her proposition, then the should be growing what the natives grew there before everyone else arrived.

Hey AOC, cauliflower makes me fart; come to think of it, so do YOU. How's that for your green agenda?

I like to grow plants that I like to eat.

Love batter fried Cauliflower. And I buy it from a local farmer when it's in season.

We support our farmers.

A cauliflower looks like a human brain...which I guess you could say “colonial’...

Since she doesn’t have a brain, she wouldn’t know the difference...

This mentality is AMaizeIng to me.
I suppose since we have corn cultivars that actually grow in more temperate zones that those should be abandoned too, because they were appropriated by colonialists.

What’s the actual goal of the green new deal? Reversing the effects of western civilization I believe, but by how many centuries? I think pure hunter-gatherer culture is the end game, but I also wonder when the genocide and mass deportation begins, and also when do you decide that a person’s specific origins actually count? 500 years ago? 2000? Afterall, many of the lines of people said to be indigenous to North America migrated here only a few millennia ago. Aren’t they invaders too?
