It’s how they get things into “law”.

Like “We have to pass it so you can find out what’s in it”.

I cannot believe that there are people stupid enough to listen to Nancy Pelosi. ESPECIALLY after that.

But there are. There are many that stupid.

On the government projects I do I pay a minimum of 53.75 per hour for a common laborer.

This is not the norm so you are projecting an artificial situation on the general. The is what liberals do. I could send 10 fine young men to see you for $53/hr. You should have no problem for $110,00 yr. That twice what Java developers start out making in Northern Va.

I’ve been doing it for 39 years so it is possible I know more about the local conditions than you do.

But it is good to know that if I ever want to make four bucks an hour I know where to go.

I know from past conversations that you have some problems with basic reading comprehension and facts in general. I hope you find the help you need.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Listen jerk you are talking about union wages or some wildly inflated govt contract. Those jobs are not for some 20 Y.O. kid with no connections. Those jobs go to friends and family only. I know that racket and so do you.

$110,000/yr is equal to a O-5 with 20 years in the service. A common laborer does not make that much unless it on some stupidly inflated union/govt contract.

Have you gone directly into immigrant and lower/middle class communities? HS Guidance Counselors for the most part steer their students to college instead of a job. Students are led to believe it's inferior to work when they've completed HS. The reality is that those guidance counselors don't care about the students. They care about the percentage who go to college, whether it's a good idea or not.

Those numbers about how much better a college student does in life than a HS grad? They're skewed. (1) it should be comparing students in the middle third, for whom college isn't an obvious choice. (2) the cost of loans and interest should be subtracted from the lifetime earnings of those who went to college.

Go ahead post a job listing for an unskilled laborer at $53/hr. Do it or shut up. You do know how to search the internet? Ask the day nurse to help you.

I’m not so sure about that. GDP measures total output of goods and services, regardless of whether it is produced by Americans or immigrants.

My rule of thumb as an employer was to overpay staff in direct compensation and scale back or eliminate many benefits that today’s workers consider their God-given entitlements.

A company pension is one of the most idiotic things ever to show up in a workplace. The idea that an employer should continue paying employees for even ten minutes after they leave the company is ludicrous. Company-paid health insurance is preposterous, too. It introduces all the wrong kinds of incentives into the employer-employee relationship.

The average is 3.1%. It seems like GDP was always above 5% except during recessions. Now we are struggling to get 3% post depression. It will only get better is my point. I think this economic rival is just starting. If we can just reduce LEGAL immigration wages will go up even more.

A lot of those things came as a way to get around wartime-imposed wage controls.

Obama had a mediocre economy. Low unemployment, perhaps, but a record low job participation rate. He doubled the debt, and was kept afloat by near zero interest rates. Good jobs were leaving the country in droves. His economic growth rate was awful. The media spun every which way for him.

Remember, after the passage of the ACA (Obamacare), many companies that were going to get subjected to being forced to provide expensive health insurance, stopped hiring people for full time positions. It really was true back then that the low unemployment figures was misleading because it didn't reflect full employment.

I would like to hire some teen summer help.

Sadly the county school board must approve their work permits.

Yes, that includes home schooled, private school, drop out, graduated.

This is a basic part time retail job that adults should not be interested in. But they are the ones I have to aim for.

Let us hire teens for these entry level jobs.

It would be good for us and good for them.
