Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) returned from a Middle East tour saying that he saw no alternative to the Israeli-Palestinian Arab conflict other than the two-state solution, JTA reported Wednesday.
I would say I dont know what the alternative is other than a two-state solution, Romney was quoted as having said on Tuesday in his first meeting with reporters since returning from the region last week.
No one articulated to us anywhere in the region an idea or a proposal for something other than a two-state solution, added Romney, who has just assumed the chairmanship of the Middle East subcommittee in the Senate.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), the ranking member on the subcommittee, traveled with Romney and sat at his side during the briefing in the Capitol. He nodded in agreement, saying right, according to JTA.
Romney went on to describe leaders he and Murphy met in the Palestinian areas and Jordan.
They described what would occur if there were not a two-state solution, and that would be an Israel or a one state an Israel where you have 6.6 million Palestinians and 6.6 million Jews and the Palestinians have larger families than the Jews, and so over time it would become predominantly Palestinian, he said. That would not seem to be something which the Israelis were looking for and something which the Palestinians felt was unlikely to be the outcome that would be satisfying to the Israeli government.

WHY?
Mitt Romney is an Anti Semite.
Mormon Morons support Romney’s Jew hatred.
He would understand much better if he were a Christian (or Jew)...
The Book of Mormon. Guy in New York gets visited by aliens. They give him golden plates. He hides them. This constitutes a Newer testament and a new religion. Then New Yorkers and Ohioans say they’re bonkers so everyone runs away to Utah. Then they take over our intelligence agencies. Then Freepers who mention that get monitored.
Hey - Mittens...nobody asked you....
Proverbial case of speaking and removing all doubt. He’s on record as to where he stands, now.
Did he read about a two-state solution in his magic hat?
Easy fix: One state and have all the Palestinians wear a green “Crescent and Star” patch on all their clothing so the Isreali’s won’t harm them.
Hagar, you and your child must go.
But, what does their Book (or, as you said ‘his Bible’) have to say about the two state solution? You posted that Romney doesn’t have knowledge of his own *bible*.
I have no idea, since I’ve never read it.
At the time, to flush Obamma
There is already the “two state” solution - it’s called Jordan and Israel.
It is not Israel’s fault that after Jordan annexed the West Bank Arafat started a civil war, lost that civil war to the king of Jordan and opened a breach between Jordan and the West Bank which the political class in the West Bank will not ever allow to be healed.
The Arab state carved out of the former British Mandate for Palestine is Jordan. Israel and Jordan have a peace treaty. Now they just have to figure out how much of the west bank to turn back over to Jordan. I think Jordan will have to exile all the leaders of Fatah and the leaders of those PLO organizations associated with Fatah. It will likely take a generation to tame the West Bank of Jordan into a civil society of Jordanian citizens.
Meanwhile some of the West Bank will remain Israeli in perpetuity.
The “Palestinians” have never seen it that way. Neither do the Jordanians for that matter. They always call all of Israel “Palestine”. And anyway, as Zuheir Mohsen (the PLO official who admitted that “[t]he Palestinian people does not exist”) said, the only for a so-called State of Palestine “is only a means for continuing our struggle (jihad) against the State of Israel for our Arab unity”, IOW a pan-Arab Caliphate.
BTW, there is no “West Bank”. There is only Judea-Samaria.
The alternative is to rid the world of the palestinian concept.
Israel will absorb the West Bank and Egypt will reabsorb Gaza.
Those affected people who can not tolerate the situation can be punished
He’s no WASP.
There are plenty of “Palestinian” states, they are just plain Arabs, nothing more, nothing less.
He's got a point. There is no long-term solution which does not involve removing all Muslims from Israel, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. Anyone who does not want to face this, is willfully blind.
That’s in spite of what he said. And it allows for him to still claim the existence of “Palestine” and “Palestinians”.
No to Egypt absorbing (not “re-absorbing”) Gaza.
And there’s no West Bank; there is only Judea-Samaria.
