Wonderful, now how long before fascists tear them down and receive not a second of punishment?

State laws protect these monuments. I hope Texas has these laws in place. Here in Georgia, our conservative Governor just signed a bill this weekend providing even more protection for statues.

A number of Southern states have these laws in place and just in the nick of time it seems.

Very good. Keep history true.

Are you suggesting that fighting his way to Texas and into Mexico or taking up guerrilla warfare would have been more to your taste?
Lee played the hand he was dealt well and honourably.

States that protect Confederate monuments at the moment are Virginia, North Carolina (Leftist Governor won’t enforce the law), South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. There may be others but they didn’t show up in the article I read. A bill in the Arkansas legislature died when they adjourned several days ago and one is pending in the Texas House.

Well that is good. History is very important. Ever think of the real reason these Democrats want to erase it?

That allusion to McCain doesn’t work. Lee had plenty of accomplishment prior to being forced to surrender. McCain’s military ‘accomplishment’ *is* to have been captured (and to have repeatedly crashed planes)...which isn’t an accomplishment.

Gee - it turns out there must have been some good people on the side of keeping the statues around, just as Trump said.......
