With President Donald Trump's military transgender ban having taken effect, officials in at least three states have come out against the ban and will not enforce it in their National Guards.

USSC has ruled that the federal government exercises plenary power over the national guard. Trump can force these states to enforce the ban.
Guess they don’t need that federal money.
Let them pay for the surgery with state funds.
Well, the California, Nevada, and New Mexico National Guard can be federalized if necessary.

If these are officials that wear uniform, then they can be given less than honorable discharges and sent on their way.

I understood Trump's transgender ban applicable GOING FORWARD and not to be applied to troops ALREADY in the guard!
Even 6 years ago, the thought of transgendered troops in the military would have been considered insanity.

These states could set up a parallel state guard a sort of state “Scared Band” (See classical Greece Thebes!). Set their own standards, have their own uniforms, military occupation specialties, etc. The mind reels over the possibilities!
Yes, I would play hardball with these jerks. Same for sanctuary mayors and governors. No warnings. Just turn off the money and enjoy watching them piss and moan.
FWIW, the military does not accept millions of people with type 2 diabetes as recruits either. This is not because Trump hates diabetics, it is because the military is not a great grand social experiment to make certain groups feel good and give them access to training and jobs which would be downright dangerous for those with certain physical (or mental) issues.

They need to be sure that they have troops that will fire on the enemy when needed; dangerous people like Christians and conservatives.
