Eight pedestrians were injured Tuesday evening in Sunnyvale, Calif., after a driver, who was reportedly speeding, deliberately drove into" them, police said. The driver, identified only as an adult male, is in custody. All eight people, who were walking through a crosswalk or standing nearby, were transported to local hospitals for treatment and evaluation, Capt. Witnesses say the driver made no effort to stop.
“We do have witness statements that show that vehicle did not attempt to slow down or brake,” Choi added. “And the scene itself doesn’t show any evidence of braking.”

I wonder if the guy has any religious preference?
I used to live within a 1/4 mile of that location.
Busy road but nothing strange about the traffic flow.
You do need to watch traffic when crossing the street on foot.
And that tells us all we need to know.
I’m going on a limb here. Either the male driver was a Mooselimb or an Illegal. I just watched my local news and no mention of driver except that the driver is a male.
This happened one block from my home. Whole area is still with cops.
Actually did an earlier poster indicate a Vietnamese name?
Odd that. I am seriously confused, if that is the case.
I hope the pedestrians aren't in too bad shape, horrible to get hit by a car. I have friends that live near there in Sunnyvale. Busy road, much more so than a couple decades ago. Whole area got built up in the growth spurt of Silicon Valley, influx of techies and immigrants, more traffic.
Or is Phan Ngo the chief there?
Maybe that makes a lot more sense.
That is the Chief of Police.
Sunnyvale, Calif. Very sad. Lots of talented people in the area. Yahoo and Nasa are around the block. Brutal injuries. Prayers for all involved. Suspicious, for sure.
Those Amish are at it again?
I’m bookmarking this thread. Hmmmm...
Baptists. For sure.
When people suffer these kinds of physical traumas, the psychological damage should not be underestimated.
It is a given that the victims and the witnesses who had to observe such a horrific scene will struggle with PTSD.
When we pray, lets be sure to include the innocents who were forced to watch as this brutal attack unfolded, as well as the victims, their families, and loved ones.
I have no doubt that is true. 🤣
That’s a little too snowflake-ish for me.
I’ll pray for actual victims and their families.
Not for people “who saw something bad”
