The campus chief of police at Mount Holyoke College has been placed on leave after students confronted him about supporting President Trump.
Students dug up tweets from Chief Daniel Hect which showed he thinks favorably of Trump, likes the National Rifle Association, and supports a Mexican border wall.
Last month, members of the Mount Holyoke administration held a forum for students to engage with the newly hired chief of campus police. The Mount Holyoke News reports that students questioned Hect about his personal views amid tension and tears.

Hect apologized for his tweets and any damage they may have caused, saying [the tweets referencing the phrase] build a wall, obviously, on my end, [were] a huge mistake.
Big mistake. Obviously, he doesn't have the balls to be in charge. Stand by your convictions, man!
Weaponized victimhood works.

Sue for discrimination? Under what law?
So the chief is deleting all of his “offensive” tweets. That is sad and pathetic, but not unexpected. As you said, he should have stood his ground as he did nothing wrong.
And the college administrators should have backed him up. It would have been a great lesson in free speech!
But instead the lesson is this: Fascist bullying works.
Why would these students even bother to look up his social media posts? Did they check the janitors’ posts, too? The students are just looking for something to be offended by. The article also says the students objected to the college hosting a police academy graduation. Don’t they have any term papers to write?
And these college students are the future leaders of our Republic? God help us.

Cognitive dissonance

The real problem is not that those students are fascists. The real problem is that those students are preventing the entire student body from hearing different opinions.
There was a time when it was legal to discriminate against a person because of the color of their skin.
Laws were changed.
Today it’s legal to discriminate against a person because of their political party... That’s wrong.
Laws need to be changed.
And the school’s administration is backing the fascists up.
These a**hole “students” need a bloody nose and a fat lip.
Worthless pieces of crap.
I agree, but under our Constitution, laws are supposed to be changed by Congress; not by un-elected political appointees wearing black robes.

One of the ways we can showcase that is by demanding OUR victim groups get the same ‘thumb on the scales of justice’ treatment that liberal victim groups get...
Lucky for us Trump is replacing judges who ‘legislate from the bench’ as fast as he can.
Thank God.
One more reason to do whatever it takes (legally) to elect President Trump for FOUR MORE YEARS.
Mount Holyoke College is an ‘elite’ school a stone’s throw from U. Mass.
Big Time. I see a big damages award in his future.
You know, if those students feel that way about the campus police, the police should stand down whenever/if something happens to those students.
