"Hect reportedly told students at the forum that he was “going through [his] Twitter feed, and deleting comments and likes” in order to make the community feel more safe.

Hect apologized for his tweets and “any damage they may have caused,” saying “[the tweets referencing the phrase] build a wall, obviously, on my end, [were] a huge mistake.”

Big mistake. Obviously, he doesn't have the balls to be in charge. Stand by your convictions, man!

So the chief is deleting all of his “offensive” tweets. That is sad and pathetic, but not unexpected. As you said, he should have stood his ground as he did nothing wrong.

And the college administrators should have backed him up. It would have been a great lesson in free speech!

But instead the lesson is this: Fascist bullying works.
