Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday he will be introducing a proposal to change U.S. asylum laws, saying the only way to stop the crisis at the southern border is to toughen up asylum standards... The chairman of the Judiciary Committee said lawmakers will mark up a bill once they return from recess later this month... he wants to alter the law to allow the unaccompanied minors to be returned to Central America.

Fox News also reported, that Sen Graham intends to address Child/family detention rules as well.

"a minor may only be detained for a maximum of 20 days. “It’s impossible to do a hearing in 20 days,” Graham said, adding that he wants to modify the decision and asylum laws. “So we’re going to try to change the time you can hold an unaccompanied minor or a minor child beyond 20 days because if you come up with a family and you have minor kids in the family, we release the whole family in 20 days because you don’t want to separate families.”

He didn’t bother to do this when Pubs had both houses. Same with Cruz. We’re not fooled any more.

Good. Put the Democrats on record for doing nothing to halt the flood of illegal alien invaders. It’s child abuse to give incentives to drag children across the border.

This is political posturing by the swamp. The Repub RINOs are useless to America. No fight. No results. Just useless politics and lack of support for the one man who cares about this country and its REAL CITIZENS.

Agree, and to me RINOs are worse than useless as they still give some hope to the desperately confused on our side.

Doesn't need much:
  1. Mandatory eVerify for all current and future full-time, part-time, or temporary work.
  2. Anyone with expired visa, previous deportation order, missed court dates, hearings, or files shall be immediately deported.
  3. Anyone entering the US except at legal border crossings, shall be immediately deported.
  4. All persons interested in go to the US must apply at an embassy or consulate first. And must wait until given approval to then go to the US.
  5. No work permits, not public services to anyone without US citizenship or a green card. Anyone violating this shall be immediately deported.
  6. End remittances. How to accomplish this? What needs to stop are all remittances of illegal and undeclared income. Maybe a 75% withholding on any funds not tied to a legal SSN?

Yes, lots of other points but I suspect if these six points were implemented the lure of coming to the US was be over and the 30-60 million already here would fairly quickly be starved out and return home.

That's right. This just posturing to the rubes back home in anticipation of the next election.

McConnell and Ryan would have blocked any such legislation in the past 2 years because their constituency is the Chamber of Commerce.

No change in immigration laws will happen until the RINOs are purged by woke voters.

As Sundance says, there are trillions of dollars at stake and the Rats and RINOs will fight you every step of the way.

The GOP (including Trump) did nothing on borders and immigration for two years. Looks like we’re getting two years of betrayal, followed by two years of failure theater.

The GOP narrative-

2012- “But we only have the House, we need the Senate and Presidency to get anything done”

2014- “But we only have the House and Senate, we need the Presidency to get anything done”

2016- GOP has all chambers of government- “But our donors hate Donald Trump”.

2018- “But we need the House to get anything done”

Half a term gone. Third-world migration way above Obama levels. Who would have believed that on Inauguration Day 2017?

Sorry if my preference for achievement over promises offends you.

Now that the Mueller report is out, and AG Barr will be investigating the ‘Spy-Gate’ issue, it is a good time for the Republicans to go on the offensive regarding our immigration laws.

We should not dismiss the timing of this proposal for new immigration standards. The Democrats have not been doing nothing - that is, they have been very active - in promoting a hoax upon the entire country. It consumed the entire first two years of Trump’s Presidency. It is time for the GOP to rally itself and get moving to repair the damage of a Democrat Congress.

Replace Ginsburg on the USSC, and we don't have to worry about Congress.

If you look at all problems that have plagued the US since the 1950s, it is because of the USSC, and not the Leftists in Congress.

An activist judiciary is what screwed America. When leftists couldn't pass a law, they ran to the courts.
