New York lawmakers on Tuesday refused to advance a bill that would have provided free college tuition to the families of military personnel from the state who were killed in the line of duty.
The Assembly’s Higher Education Committee voted 15 to 11 to hold the bipartisan bill, effectively ending its chances of making it to a floor vote this session.
End those scumbag New York politicians’ careers. Make them burger flippers or dogsh!t scrapers...

Not giving out free college is one thing, & maybe I can understand that given economic conditions...but when illegals get the nod over Gold Star families,that is ridiculous! The ones who voted this way ought to be flogged!

The NY bill only permitted illegal aliens to apply for the same taxpayer-funded grants/loans available to everyone else. Still horribly wrong in my opinion, but it wasn't a bill that singled illegals out for free colleg unavailable to others.
I'd rather they have kept the illegal alien exclusion, and used that money to give free college to the gold star kids...at least to the extent federal benefits fall short.
My nephew's father died from Gulf War leukemia, and his college is paid for. So I could understand a state not automatically making it "free", because for those with that benefit, it would amount to states turning down federal money. But in cases where there isn't that federal money, absolutely make it free on the atate level.
No, but if you write “black lives matter” 100 times, you get free tuition.
Only hope for this scumbag state is Senate is taken back by Rs.

When my pop died in my high school freshman year, the school waived tuition the whole four years. I was only 6 weeks into freshman year.
See if that would happen in Sh.thattan or Crooklyn.

And SOME days, I don’t mind even if she IS in manhattan :)
