Top Democrats Up In Arms Over Barr’s ‘Spying’ Comment
TPM ^ | 4-10-2019 | Kate Riga

Attorney General William Barr’s comment that he thinks “spying did occur” by intelligence agencies on the Trump campaign quickly reverberated outside the Senate committee hearing room, raising the hackles of top Democrats.

“The top law enforcement officer of the country should not casually suggest that those under his purview engaged in ‘spying’ on a political campaign,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said in a statement. “This type of partisan talking point may please Donald Trump, who rails against a ‘deep state coup,’ but it also strikes another destructive blow to our democratic institutions.”

Schiff’s fellow chairman Jerry Nadler (D-CA), head of the House Judiciary Committee, also immediately expressed his displeasure.

Barr somewhat softened his comment later on in the hearing, reclassifying “spying” as “unauthorized surveillance” which would rule out the FISA warrant of former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

Has anyone seen Obama or Hillary recently?

Is the media hiding them?

They sure have been quiet lately.

The dems showed no respect to the Attorney General...We noticed it and you can bet that Barr also noticed. Makes me wonder if it will affect his enthusiasm for justice.

Seen recently over on Instapundit:

I read the most delightful suggestion here a couple days ago: Barr should issue a 'put up or shut up' order. Read a list of all the Congressmen and journalists who've told us they have evidence of a criminal conspiracy between Trump and the Russians to steal the election from Her Inevitableness. Tell them they have seven days to present their evidence to the DoJ or be charged with withholding evidence in a criminal investigation.

That would send them all screaming and running for the doors, and the backpeddling would be a thing of beauty: 'It wasn't evidence evidence! Not our fault, we got bad information from our sources!' Then ask, 'if your sources lied to you are you still obligated to honor their request for anonymity?'I read the most delightful suggestion here a couple days ago: Barr should issue a 'put up or shut up' order. Can you imagine if Republicans had treated Holder this way? Or, said the things about him, that Dems are saying about Barr??

There would’ve been an outrage - even though Holder WAS guilty of doing exactly what they’re projecting on to Barr.

It’s all a cover for their panic, IMO.

Bill&Hill are supposed to be starting a speaking tour.

0 may have already moved to NZ.

We’ll have to look for sightings of these crooks.

I think they both made some stupid comments recently but I can’t remember what they said.
Probably cause they make so many of them.

Not a one of these stinking Stalinists was upset over 3 years of cavelier claims that President Trump engaged in treason.

These same dems were free with their accusations of Trump colluding with the Russians, and had no evidence of same.

What else would you call obtaining a FISA warranty using falsified documents, knowing fully well the “evidence” was as fake as Stormy Daniels’ boobs.

The whole "Russian Collusion" witch-hunt was sold on the premise that We the People need to know if the President is compromised! The public needs to know! The citizens of America NEED to know!

Well, if there was "illegal surveillance" or "spying" being conducted ON Americans, for the purpose of UNDERMINING Americans, by those who are supposed to be PROTECTING Americans...then WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW!

The FBI is one of the most undemocratic of our institutions as they apparently feel they are accountable to no one.
