It turns out New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t the only prominent Democrat who questions whether America was ever that great.
In pointed terms during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Obama-era attorney general Eric Holder posed the question to MAGA-chanting Trump supporters: "Exactly when did you think America was great?"

The comments echoed those of Cuomo, who took heavy criticism for remarking last year that America “was never that great.” Together, both off-the-cuff comments amount to stunning statements from public figures who until recently were considered potential presidential candidates. In both cases, the Democrats took shots at America's past as part of an effort to criticize President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.
After speaking during Wednesday's MSNBC interview with Holder on topics like criminal justice reform and partisan redistricting – which the ex-AG says is now his focus instead of running for the White House in 2020 – host Ari Melber had asked him: “There is a lot of talk about America being a leader as a democracy, quote unquote, in the 1800s when women and African-Americans couldn’t vote. What kind of democracy is that?”
Holder, unprovoked, then used his answer to tear into Trump's campaign rally cry.
"That's exactly right. And that's what I hear these things about 'let’s make America great again' and I think to myself, ‘exactly when did you think America was great’?” he said on the show.

From 1946 and for a decade the United States sent billions of dollars to a war-crushed Europe. CARE packages and Point 4 foodstuffs kept Europe alive. The Marshall Plan helped Europe get on its feet. In the history of the world was there ever so great a charitable response from a victorious nation? Great? People like Holder have no idea.

There was NO time in my life, with the exception of 2008 to 2016, when I was not proud and full of love for my country.
You name one time and there are thousands of times, too many to enumerate, however, even in the 80s, I was not as proud as I have been for the last two years. And I did not vote for him in 2016, much to my regret.

Our constitution guarantees us a republican form of government with strictly limited and defined powers allowing no king, no emperor, no dictator, no powerful central government, no socialist state or police state oppressing we the people. But we have to fight to keep it that way.
We are a self-governed constitutional republic! Not a democracy, not a socialist state. No other form of government is greater or offers more freedom or opportunity for the people! ALL the people regardless of race or religion.
What makes us less great today than yesteryear is when corrupt powerful people in political parties conspire together to whittle away at our constitutional rights and protections and try to fundamentally transform America from a free republic to a socialist state.
America is a rich country full of freedom and opportunity. Why do you think millions of people try to break IN to America every year? With the possible exception of Muslims who want to break in and take over every country in the world, we don't see millions of people trying to break in to Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, or any other socialist country. Why is that?
America was great in 1946.

If you can rip down a statue of Robert E. Lee, then why call yourself a Democrat, when the name of that party stood for more racial hatred and slavery than Robert E. Lee ever did!

The USA has been Great since it’s founding.

obama, holder and the rest of his loyal criminals...all wanted to hold onto obama’s false/fake successes.. all he did when he was President. They did not want someone to come in and take an ounce of his “successes” and take his legacy. He was on it the first day and before.. he took the credit for any successes Trump was having... he came out on tv and said he started this.. he did that.. when it was NOT HIM.. but Trump.
obama was so obsessed, he had Trump followed... and he set up the horrible 2-3 year terror reign he brought on to Trump. obama was so full of himself and so hungry to make of himself, a legacy that only he and his minions believe.
He was a total failure, but he thought he was a genius, working miracles! In actually, he brought destruction and divided the nation like no other before him.
obama was self absorbed with his belief he walked on water, that he set out to take out Pres Trump and was positive he could. He used the power of the government while he was in office, to control anyone he thought was in his way or had a belief that he wanted to stifle. He thought he had no limits... until Pres Trump!
