In recent days, Democrats have been trampling all over each other to get to a microphone to trumpet massive structural changes to American public life.
First, several presidential candidates are calling for an increase in the size of the Supreme Court. Nine justices are too few, apparently. In a proposal that seems straight out of the writers room at The West Wing, Beto ORourke wants the court apportioned by party, with five Democrats and five Republicans, and an extra five chosen by the 10 partisan ones.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has endorsed a proposal to lower the federal voting age to 16 (an idea already being contemplated at the local level in Oregon and the District of Columbia, and gathering steam in California).
Oh, and a great many Democrats want to abolish the Electoral College. This is nothing new for modern Democrats, who feel the Electoral College makes it too hard for them to win the presidency. But theres never been serious practical discussion of it because its pointless to advocate it 38 states would have to vote to agree to it for the amendment to pass, and as such a move would weaken the political power of small states, that will never happen.

Their only chance at power is in changing the rules. They have no productive ideas to sell, so there is nothing tangible they can run and win on.
Don’t forget voter fraud. It’s the only way they stay in power.
The humane, patriotic reasons aren't covering all the bases. They are beginning to look a bit flimsy. It can't just be that no one wants to get splashed with reptilian blood...
I wonder what will happen if because of the economy Pres. Trump would win the popular vote how the Democrats would react.
..... That is actually one of my worries about the next election ..... I believe the Democrats know this and will do whatever it takes to destroy the economy before the next election.
The left wants to change the rules the way my son did, at 6 years old, when he was inventing a game with his little friends to make sure he was always winning.
It keeps going back to a matter of maturity.
“Their only chance at power is in changing the rules.”
Well, rule changes and unlimited immigration.
Trump could be left off some states’ ballots if these bills become law....

If you can’t beat them, CHEAT!
just think what they would do if Trump got another SCOTUS pick....
What do you mean??? He does have a second pick... the cockroach Dems simply haven’t made it public that RBG has been on ice for the past 3 months.
I think it would be appropriate to up the number to thirteen.
First, split the Ninth Circuit. It covers 20% of the US populace by itself, and is overly large geographically. Amongst many other issues it has... Gives us 12 Circuit Courts.
Next, Add four judges, giving us 12, one to be the ‘overseer’ of each circuit, randomly chosen. This judge has to sign off on any district-wide injunctions generated by the circuit Court, and has other boss powers over it.
Chief Justice has DC and federal district courts.
This gives us more decentralization of the Supremes, a bit more oversight of the circuits, and expands the Court’s ability to see cases. And if the Dems/RINOs don’t like Trump appointing four judges, I suppose a fair compromise would be giving him two appointments now, and whoever wins 2020 gets the other two. (Not including regular judge turnover.)
(slight correction, it would be #3)
Are we living through the sequel of ‘Weekend at Ruthies’?
(Lord, I apologize. I couldn’t help myself. It was the cidergeist and crown)
Trump is right. Go Trump!
They always change the rules when they can’t win legally. They’ve been doing it for many years, and allowed to get away with it.
Wow, that puts it in perspective.
“Democrats want to change the rules because they arent winning anymore”
IIRC the Democrats were out to change the Constitution, the rules when they were winning, so they really haven’t changed at all.
No, it doesn't.
The Democrats will never "grow up" and learn to play nice with others. This is a doomed expectation.
It keeps going back to their will-to-power. They keep trying to change the "rules" so they can stay in power forever. What they have is theirs, what you have is negotiable.
