Omar slams U.S. war in Iraq on anniversary of invasion

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) issued a barrage of criticism about the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 on Wednesday, which marked the 16th anniversary of the start of one of America's longest-running armed conflicts.

In a series of tweets, the Minnesota congresswoman labeled the George W. Bush administration's invasion of Iraq "illegal" and called for those involved in the explanation and lead up to the war to be held accountable.

"16 years ago the U.S. illegally invaded Iraq, leaving a trail of destruction and lives lost," Omar tweeted. "4,496 U.S. troops lost their lives. 100,000+ Iraqi civilians [were] killed."

"We must hold accountable those who repeatedly lied in the run-up to war," she added, citing specific statements about alleged weapons of mass destruction including biological weapons, none of which were ever found, that were made by President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

"All of these statements were not only false, they were known by intelligence agencies to be lies at the time. To this day they have not been held accountable," Omar wrote.

I wish I could look her in the eye and adequatley convey how much pleasure I get whenever her ISIS and Muslim Brotherhood friends die.

Someone please tell this clown that bad things happen when your country funds terrorism and flyies planes into skyscrapers. Killing over 3,000 US civilians will always elicit a response from the US.

As far as I know, Saddam had no participation in 9/11.

This repulsive woman feels invincible now. The only person to question her loyalty to the US has been suspended from her TV program for daring to challenge Islam and Omar.

Take a flying leap FOX, I am done with you.

Trump also denounces Bush’s invasion of Iraq

As Trump has said, invading Iraq was a waste of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives. As a new US Army study concludes, the winner was Iran. As Trump points out, Saddam was a check on Iran, and Bush stupidly took him out

she sure doesn’t belong in America, or any civilized country.
she needs to go home to her native Krapistan, NOW!
(especially since she loves it so much, she’ll obviously be soooooo much happier there!)

The Iraq War was the worst foreign policy decision in American military and political history.

Period. End of story. No questions asked.

This repulsive woman

I don’t like her either. But the invasion of Iraq was a huge blunder even if she agrees with that. Trump has called it one of the most disastrous foreign policy misadventures in US history

No, we went because Saddam tried to assassinate GHW Bush, according to the Inspector General's Report.

I am not going to make the case for the Iraq War, I don’t think, at this point anyone could. My gripe is with FOX taking Omar’s case and suspending Judge Jeannine for a very mild rebuke directed at Omar. Why is Omar allowed to question Jewish Americans’ loyalty without any push back? Expect to see Omar become more and more outspoken and despicable.

WMD was moved to Syria. It was bad intelligence but hardly a “lie”.

the stupid was not guaranteeing freedom of religion and then pulling out early as we did...

plenty of blame, but taking saddam out was not a bad idea.

“I’m not going to the case for the Iraq War, I don’t think, at this point anyone could.”

Most of the nevertrumpers, like Bill Kristol, still satyr Iraq War was a good idea. In fact, that seems to be their main reason for being nevertrumpers - because Trump was the first GOP candidate to publicly denounce the Iraq War. Tucker Carlson points this out in his new book. He notes that Kristol didn’t seem hostile to Trump - until Trump told a debate audience that the Iraq War was a stupid mistake by Bush. After that and ever since, Kristol has been on the warpath against Trump
