Most of the nevertrumpers, like Bill Kristol, still satyr Iraq War was a good idea. In fact, that seems to be their main reason for being nevertrumpers - because Trump was the first GOP candidate to publicly denounce the Iraq War. Tucker Carlson points this out in his new book. He notes that Kristol didn’t seem hostile to Trump - until Trump told a debate audience that the Iraq War was a stupid mistake by Bush. After that and ever since, Kristol has been on the warpath against Trump

The Iraq War was the beginning of my losing faith in the Bush family I found it to be a very odd way to respond to the attack on the Towers especially since it took so long to launch. A swift and surgical strike (at Saudi Arabia), would have been much more effective, IMO.
