The Gottis are back in town and the bloodshed could just be beginning.
Police are taking a serious look at whether Gambino crime family boss Francesco Franky Boy Cali was whacked in an internal war for control with one of John Gottis brothers and a key associate fresh out of prison and possibly looking to seize power, law enforcement sources told The Post on Thursday.
While the motive for the Wednesday hit on Cali outside his Staten Island home remains under investigation, cops were probing whether it was part of a brewing American-vs.-Sicilian power struggle with Gene Gotti looking to claw back control for the red, white and blue faction of the syndicate from Cali, the son of Sicilians with close ties to his homeland, sources say.

Gee, ya think?...................
Maybe the solution would be to arm both sides.
“These things gotta happen every five years or so, ten years. Helps to get rid of the bad blood. Been ten years since the last one. You know, you gotta stop them at the beginning. Like they should have stopped Hitler at Munich, they should never let him get away with that, they was just asking for trouble.”
Cali served time in prison, apparently, and the mob casts a wary eye on anyone who might have ratted them out.
Last I read, police were trying to determine whether Cali was run over by a truck then shot six times in the chest or whether he was shot six times in the chest and then run over by a truck.
I’m not sure why I care but there’s a sort-of amusement/fascination when top mobsters get whacked. It’s not a job to aspire to if you wish for a long life.
Ping.
These days, you look at MS-13 and the Clintons and these people almost seem quaint by comparison. :)
I think it was Barzini all along...
I agree petty hoodlums by comparison. Politics is organized crime.
No gold watch?
In prison one time for a short time. This has nothing to do with that. Everything to do with sicilians having taken over key positions in the 5 families and some American mobsters not liking it.
I would put my money on the sicilians.
I would put my money on the Russians. :-P
The mafia is a shadow of its former self
Only Gotti with any saavy is the one who was at El Reno
backstabber!! :)
It’s usually a short “career choice”.
Thank God you are OK. For a while I was afraid maybe you were the victim.
That would be bad!
Have I done a few no so up and up things in my life for these guys?
Yes.
But WAY past the statutes of limitations. Going back 25 years.
And I regret the things I did but cannot undo them.
But I was NEVER NEARLY important enough to get whacked.
It was possible that in a few instances I could have gotten killed by other associates (guys that aren’t made or actually part of a family) because of crazy things I did, like busting a guy’s vending machine with a baseball bat because he put his machine in a bowling alley knowing full well my machines were in there already.
There was a sit down and it was decided I would make financial reparations for the machine but the location would stay mine.
I was only able to keep it because some deceased families members had powerful connections.
My pop died when I was 14 but he already had told me never to take jobs or money from some of his brothers.
I took neither but did need help in a few situations and they bailed me out of trouble a few times.
Ancient history now.
Youre the only guy I know from Staten Island and I hear certain Italians are actually very patriotic so naturally I was a little concerned. Glad to hear you are safe.
LOL. :-)
What do you make of the premise of this headline, that his own brother may be behind the murder?
