The Atlantic: The Most Politically Intolerant Americans Are Older White Liberals
The Daily Caller ^ | 10:14 PM 03/04/2019 | Scott Morefield

Research commissioned by The Atlantic Magazine shows that older white liberals may just be the most politically intolerant group in the country.

The article by Amanda Ripley, Rekha Tenjarla and Angela Y. He, published Monday and titled “The Geography of Partisan Prejudice,” utilized polling and analytics firm PredictWise to “create a ranking of counties in the U.S. based on partisan prejudice.”

While its findings showed “significant variations in Americans’ political ill will from place to place, regardless of party,” it also found that groups the authors expected to display partisan animosity, such as immigrants, paled in comparison to “the most politically intolerant Americans,” who “tend to be whiter, more highly educated, older, more urban, and more partisan themselves.”

While the piece did not explicitly label this group as “liberal,” several indications bear this out, such as the “highly educated” description (54 percent of college graduates at least lean Democratic), the fact that the vast majority of “urban” voters tend to be Democrats, and the known political leanings of the areas the research itself draws from, such as Massachusetts. From the article:

We see this dynamic in the heat map. In some parts of the country, including swaths of North Carolina and upstate New York, people still seem to give their fellow Americans the benefit of the doubt, even when they disagree. In other places, including much of Massachusetts and Florida, people appear to have far less tolerance for political difference. They may be quicker to assume the worst about their political counterparts, on average.

The pollsters did all they could to hide actual political affiliation, on purpose.

A lot of liberal-socialist older US people are the children or grandchildren of Stalinist communist parents/grandparents. Those communists were recent immigrants in the 1930’s or US people who bought the lie that communist Russia was the future for the world. Their kids were “red diaper” babies who were raised to believe the lies of communism. Most went underground during the McCarthy era and later cold war, but believed in communism in their hearts. Now, with the Democrats going for socialism, they are all out to make our USA communist.

“When I told my neighbor that I wanted the government to just leave me alone, she called me a Nazi.”

I told my in-laws that if Hitler had a (D) next to his name, they would have voted for him. And they are Jewish. They didn’t talk to me for almost 10 years.

I’ve adopted a policy where if anyone calls me a Nazi I burn them alive in an oven.

Oddly, since adopting this policy no one has called me a Nazi.

Whaddalottahooey. I fit most of the descriptions of their silly-assed assumption, while being old, white, and more intolerant than most. Just don’t think that makes me a damned liberal!

Yep! Because that's what the Nazis were all about ... government leaving people alone.

...and lower taxes.
