Sen. Bernie Sanders has confirmed to VPR that he is seeking the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
His official announcement video is expected to stream online Tuesday morning.
"I wanted to let the people of the state of Vermont know about this first," Sanders told VPR's Bob Kinzel. "And what I promise to do is, as I go around the country, is to take the values that all of us in Vermont are proud of — a belief in justice, in community, in grassroots politics, in town meetings — that's what I'm going to carry all over this country."

This is great news. Bernie represents the crazy
hard left wing of the Democrat party, and his platform will expose their “ideas” (or more properly “delusions” or “fantasies”) for the total horse puckey that they are. Of course a significant portion of the population (including illegal immigrants who are here not to work, but to grab welfare)will vote for him simply because they’re too lazy and too cowardly to steal for themselves and would prefer that the government do it for them and send them a check with a share of the plunder.

This time Bernie will find out he is old news. He challenged Hillary as a token candidate and found some traction because she was so disliked by many Dems. This time Bernie will face younger, more radical challengers who will make him seem mainstream and very, very old.

Relatively young, clean, and articulate
Married to a Jewish, white guy
Significant public service as DA in SF, AG in CA (re-elected once), and Senator
Moved to Canada at age 12 and graduated HS in Montreal
Proudly smoked weed and wants it legalized
Graduated from Howard, an historically Black college showing she is down with the struggle
