In CA you can Legally drop off a Newborn at a Firehouse, Hospital or Police Station, no questions asked.
I can not understand why a mother would do this?
If you go to the local cop shop or fire station you can drop off a newborn and no questions will be asked. The newborn will then be a state ward for a brief period of time. Many childless couples are waiting in line for this gift of our father.
A Democrat was inconvenienced.
Why don’t they just drop them off at a hospital? I’m glad the baby survived.
Maybe the mother did not know that, or thought it would be embarrassing. In some places in Europe churches had containers where a baby could be left while no one else was around. A baby drop box.
Isn’t that child still within the age range of qualifying for a post-delivery abortion?

Democrats are telling the young, malleable minds in our society that murdering your child is A-OK. Democrats like Northam, and Cuomo, and so many others. People that are actually respected. Maybe NOT by you, and me, but all too many.
Not sure. Almost seems as if the parents didn’t know, and she had to dump the kid before going home from school.

this is sort of why liberalism will eventually fail...they don’t produce enough children. liberals abort and don’t see the value of family.
Every community has people who would unquestioning accept a newborn like this.

Probably the best book on this is The Rise of Christianity:How the Obscure, Marginal Jesus Movement Became the Dominant Religious Force in the Western World in a Few Centuries, by Rodney Stark.
I highly recommend it for both believers and non-believers.
It is written from a secular viewpoint.

One would hope the child doesn’t have a drug addiction problem though.
