MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) Authorities rescued a newborn girl early on Monday after she was found lying on a rural road in Madera County, located in the middle of California's Central Valley.
The baby was cold but otherwise believed to be in good condition. She was covered only with a blanket.

The delivery worker, Aurelio Fuentes Jr., was reportedly distributing copies of the Fresno Bee when he happened upon the infant wrapped in a blanket and crying in front of a church on California Route 36. It was just before 4 a.m. and freezing outside, so he called 911. The operator told him to pick up the baby; when he, he discovered the baby wasn't wearing a diaper.
The absence of a diaper suggests that whoever had the baby was totally unprepared for the delivery. Very strange.
She could have taken the baby to any fire house, no questions asked.
Yes, someone earlier said fire stations, hospitals and police stations would all accept them.
Yes, that is something I had not thought about. That would be a reason to drop the baby to keep from being found being addicted.
Two or three weeks ago one of the people on "Finding Your Roots" was a woman of Sicilian and Calabrian ancestry. One of her ancestors had the surname D'Ignoti. It came from the fact that his birth notice in the parish records had him listed as d'ignoti--"of unknown parents." Evidently left at a church by an unmarried young woman.
Don’t fire stations also have those?. Or just in some states. Would be a great thing for communities to invest in. A safe place, no questions asked.

Did the person who witnessed that rescue the baby, or did they just call 911?

I do believe you’ve hit on something here! Let’s forget the condemnation and just rescue the babies.
Probably a 12 or 13 year old illegal or anchor kid. That area is saturated with them.
The 10-hour-old infant is already registered in California to vote Demonicrat in the next elections.
Not only that but there is a fire station just down the road from where the child was left. It is a rural area, no street lights. Many stray dogs and coyotes out. T
No, that area is actually fairly upper middle class. But I do think it was a young girl who perhaps was in denial about her pregnancy. The child had no diaper indicating absolutely no thought or plan for the child.
There was a case here in the central valley about 10 years ago of a young woman who abandoned 3 babies 3 years in a row. The authorities finally found her, the jurors were not easy on her.
